Rouseau never said exactly when the Others took Alex, did she?

Yeah I think she did, Im drawing a blank on the exact thing she said (its late and Im deprived of food). I know the sentence she stated had to do with months. 2 3 maybe 6 months.

Hmm... and I thought the one who helped free Claire was Alex...

I think JediToad means that Alex was only, at most, six months old when she was kidnapped by the Others. She would still be around sixteen years old...but, didn't the Alex who helped Claire escape seem older than that?

My question had to do with, if the Others have had Alex since she was a baby, she would have been brought up believing everything they told her about their situation was true (and human nature being what it is, that they are the good guys and everyone else is "on the other side.").

Why would she be going against the group? And what would she think, concerning her mother? Would she even been told about her? I think she might, since Rouseau is hunting the Others, setting up little traps all around her territory. And Zeke and the Others might also be hunting Rouseau, off and on...which would be why Rouseau changed her hideout after Sayidd got away.

Regarding appearances, well... appearances can be deceiving. I know people who look younger than they should and definitely some who look older than they are. The person who helped free Claire didn't have a tag that said, "I am XX years old." So in my opinion, she shouldn't be ruled out just because she doesn't look sixteen.

And maybe she does know who her mother is? If Walt can have special powers, why can't Alex? Furthermore, I was told that a mother-child bond is quite special and possibly strong. Maybe she saw Rousseau (sp) from a distance and felt something? As again, nothing is for certain in this show. Maybe this Alex thing is just there to think. For all we know, the real Alex may well be long dead.
