My thoughts/conclusions after that awesome eppy last night...

1) Kate (b. 1981) is "home". Her middle name might as well be Alvar-ina.

2) Claire's baby-daddy was the muralist.

3) Aaron is at the heart of this story. He is a new body for Zeke's "HE"

4) Zeke's "He" is trapped in/volunteered to be Smokey..."bad" science left him there. Maybe Hanso his'seff.

5) I bet Jack's dad is lurking somewhere in that medical team

6) The 'crash' was faked..(duh). That Catch A Falling Star (plane 815) reference in season one and in last night's baby room now makes sense.

Please explain #1. I'm not sure what you're talking about. I agree with #3 and #6, but I thought Jack's dad was dead.

Here's a consensous from "the water cooler" at work:

1. The Others are actually a Dharma research team.

2. They were researching a new virus and things went out of control. They are looking into a vacine which does not work very well on adults - which is why Desmond repeatedly took it - but if injected in someone young it could make them imune. The younger the better.

3. They in some way, shape or form caused the crash. And they specifically chose that flight.

4. The island's security system can detect if a person has the sickness and if they do, it kills them.

I don't really buy #4, that was a "wild" theory.

Ok, here goes.

1. Kate is obsessed with a little plastic plane...like you'd find ON A MOBILE. It doesnt make sense to rob a FRIGGIN BANK over a toy, unless it's some manic, subconcious planted image, driving your crazy life to it's future destiny, to go down with the good ship Oceanic 815
2. Kate was born in 1981, and as she's a Gemini, ie. she was conceived in 1980.
3. Dharma video was copyrighted 1980,
4. Oceanic Airways was incorporated in 1980.

Coincidence? Not on this show, IMO

5. Kates step-dad was in Korea at the time of her birth, the home of Mr. Paik. Dharma/Korea connections abound.
6. Her mom was freakingout at the hospital, right outside the Magnetic Resonance IMAGINING lab. Were they re-erasing her memory about her Dharma baby delivery? Her escape from the island?

Off camera:

1) the original script called for Kate to be the centre of the story
Jack was originally killed in the pilot ep.
2) They're re airing "Whatever the case may be" next week to re-emphasize her obsession with the toy plane.

Hanso Foundation says that the objectives of the Dharma Initiative included, among others, study in Remote Viewing (mind expansion to observe from a place where one is not) and Life extension...(cryogenics, Vanilla sky stuff etc)

What was ol' Smokey, really...we saw it scanning Eko. Or you could say "viewing" into Eko.

Now, Hanso himself was pretty old in 1980, hell, he was in prime of life in WW2, so I guess he's real old nowadays.

My theory is that the ageing/failing Hanso submitted himself for the experiments, and somehow was out doing some Remote Viewing and got suspended that way when the L.E. cryo went terribly wrong...(the incident?). Now he's Alvar "Smokey" Hanso.

Zeke waxed prosaically from Hanso's web speech to Jack in the woods, so we can assume Zeke is a loyal follower; we certainly know Zeke is after Aaron....Why?

Because Aaron is to be the new body for Hanso. The Psychic knew.
