Alex and the Others

Did anyone else happen to notice the Alex reference in The Hunting Party?

Could that be the same Alex as Danielle's daughter?

If so, does that mean that Bluebeard and his crew aren't looking to harm Walt? If they raised Alex from a newborn, what's to say they won't take care of Walt?

And that brings up another question... What exactly do they want with the children? Remember Zack and Emma? The two tailie kids? Remember Goodwin saying, "Nathan was not a good person. That's why he wasn't on the list." "The children are fine. They're better off now."

Let's say that the Others work for Dharma and they are doing some sort of mind game with all the survivors, making them relive their pasts and face their previous fears. All those people who got taken might not have had anything horrible in their past to figure out on the island and were taken to a safe place where they would not be harmed. And they didn't want the children to be hurt by anything or anyone, so they took them as well.

There was a reference to Alex... I didn't catch it, but I saw on another site that they actually showed his (or her... do we know it's a boy?) hand and arm during the confrontation with Bluebeard.

We've heard repeatedly now that the children are "safe" with the Others. Whether that's a true safety or just the Others conception of it, so far who knows. I'm thinking they may not be as evil as they seemed at first. If they really wanted to kill off the plane crash survivors, they obviously could have done so already.

When I get more time I plan to write something about the kids-others into my theory.

Oh and, Danielle mentions that Alex is a girl near the end of the first season. So Alex is a Female.

Has anyone mentioned that he said he worked for the Coastgaurd in the same episode they found the knife with the U.S Army tang on one of the Others?

Goodwin said he was in the Peace Corps, not the Coast Guard.
Big difference. The Peace Corps is all about going to remote areas
and helping them get running water, plant decent crops, building schools etc. That's why when AL asked him if he was a Boy Scout, he said it
was the "grown up version."

If your theory is true that Darma crashed this plane to help all these people out, then there's something wrong with that in my mind. Think about all those people that died in the crash, who were they to decide that some would live and some would die? Because some of them did die. Like the bounty hunter who was after Kate, he definately got shot. See, makeing people face their pasts is one thing, but to cause a catastrophe and take people's lives, isn't really that cool.

I do not think that Dharma cares whether people think they are nice or "cool". Dharma gambles with peoples lives, this is regardless to if people die or not. They believe in a greater purpose, Dharma thinks they are saving the human World.

We are venturing in to politically dangerous waters, so I will keep this brief. Dharma decided that the lives of these few, out wayed the lives of other losties. Would you kill a entire leper colony so you can save one baby?

No, makes sense on that twist. If they are trying to save the world, then a few shells are going to be cracked, but I'm saying that if they crashed this plane to soully help the survivors with back stories, that'd be ****ed up.
