Sun-Hwa Kwon
Sun-Hwa Kwon (née Paik ?) (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Baek Seon-hwa, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Paek So(n'hwa) is one of the middle section survivors of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. She was traveling on the plane with her husband, Jin-Soo Kwon. Their marriage has been very unstable, on and off the island, mainly due to Jin's controlling and violent nature and also because of Sun's many secrets that she will go to great lengths to protect even if it involves hurting others e.g. the maid in "The Glass Ballerina". She is currently pregnant with Jin's child, and according to Juliet the pregnancy will kill her in two months like every other pregnant woman who conceived on the island.

I'm not sure off-hand with Libby, but I'm guessing there may have been a similar circumstance.
In the event any of those broadcasts were ever intercepted, it covers up their tracks by having already indicated those people had survived the crash but died afterwards.

That's the best guess I've heard about it. I've tried to come up with a "Lost-like" reason for those 3 to be mentioned. I figured there had to be some reason (this is Lost after all), but couldn't come up with anything good. I like this explanation.

Does anyone remember who (if any) Tailies were on the other end of the 2-way radio with Boone? Did anyone talk at all? For some reason I seem to think it was Bernard but I wonder if it was Libby? I'm guessing the Tail Section POV from this was early in S2 (though Boone/Locke's POV was late in S1 if I remember correctly).
EDIT: nevermind, I verified that it was Bernard. Can't think of anything else for Libby, other than it could tie into the fact that she's the only character who's last name we never learned.

I think there is going to be quite a bit of light shed on Libby, lets not forget that if it wasnt for Libby, Desmond would have never got to the Island. Libby gave Desmond her dead lovers boat.

Also, has anyone ever thought (and this is a long-shot) that maybe the Oceanic 6 remembered the letter, that they had written and Claire put on that birds leg? Maybe they knew if that letter was ever found, that people would know they were lying if they didnt tell them someone had been killed on the Island. I mean listen;
"To whom it may concern, we are survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. We have survived on this island for 80 days. We were 6 hours into the flight when the pilot said we were off course and turned back towards Fiji. We hit turbulence and crashed. We’ve been waiting here, all this time, waiting for rescue that has not come. We do not know where we are, we only know you have not found us. We’ve done our best to live on this island. Some of us have come to accept that we may never leave it. Not all of us have survived since the crash, but there is new life too, and with it, there is hope. We are alive. Please don’t give up on us."
But as to how they decided who theyd choose to tell died? Who knows.

One of the people who the O6 say has died has got to have some sort of significance to the central players in the game surrounding the Island. There's some kind of competition going on, either to harness the forces of the Island, or to destroy it. Once it's found by one side or the other, the game's up and the fate of the world as we know it is sealed.
I envision that one side (light or dark, you decide) intends to destroy the Island, which will ultimately lead to the destruction of our world (our timeline, our consciousness as it is now). The other side will find the Island and use it for its own benefit...which will ultimately change the timeline too, thus altering our consciousness.
I imagine that whoever Adam and Eve turn out to be, will be the individuals who ultimately sacrifice themselves in order to prevent either the "light" or the "dark" outcome.
PS, I have my own theory about Adam and Eve. I think it's Rose and Bernard.
