James Ford

James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.

He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

Default Jin, Sun and baby

Wasn't there a flash forward of Jin going around looking for a giant stuffed panda bear when Sun was giving birth and it got taken by someone who got in his cab? Was that after the island? If so, Jin definately makes it off the exploding freighter right? I could be wrong about that scene as I though he was one of the "Oceanic 6" but the baby was the 6th when they all met the press. I'm sure this is a thread somewhere else too.

Sadly, that was a flash-back. The show was screwing with up again by showing Sun's flash-forward and Jin's flash-back during the same episode. It was pretty cool

I'm all for any speculations suggesting Jin's alive. It broke my heart to see the explosion and hear Sun's screaming..

Sadly, Michael and Jin are dead. Unless the island brings them back to bring balance to the island again then I do not see them coming back unless its a flash back.

Hurley told Walt that so he thinks Michael is alive on the island and not dead. Walt would have hope that Michael is still alive and would come back to him. Plus, Hurley has a heart. He wouldn't tell Walt that he blew up on a boat unless he had to.

Michael IS DEAD! The island in the previous episodes this season told Michael "not yet" when he was going to blow up the freighter (and die). Now it tells him "you can go now", that definately means he can die. The island doesn't have the ability to magically shield people from C4 when they are 3 feet away from it, just like the island did NOT save Mikhail from the grenade.

As far as the island not being able to protect Michael, or anyone else for that matter, I think it's been shown that it can definitely happen. Desmond and Locke should not have survived the blast inside the hatch at the end of season 2, but they did. By chance? I don't think so. Also, if the island wants you to die, you're going to die. If the island wants you to live, you're going to live. I think Charlie and Michael are good examples.

Ok intersting thought. What happened to the wreckage of the freigter? I had assumed that it was outside the line of the island when it changed because the copter didn't go and it traveled FROM the ship. But think about this, no survivors were seen or wreckage. Penny's boat would have at least looked at it, and all those people who jumped off. That was annoying me.

But think about it, Christian was on the boat, which means the boat was SOMEHOW "in" the island, and could have been saved.

Another intersting thing is that when we see Christian from the back, his ear is bleeding. They always do that kinda thing when someone is dead or like a ghost, show their injury they had before they died. Hmmm

The island has protected people from gun shots, punctured lungs, etc. but dynamite would have blasted his body to pieces. Unless the island can put small pieces of body back together or shield people from explosions I don't think Michael lived.

I just realized the boat couldn't have been "in" the island because the helicopter went from the boat back to the island in a straight line following the bearings. So if the helicopter didn't get moved with the island the freighter didn't either. Not sure why they didn't go back to see if lived.

unless... what if the "bubble aroudn teh island is like a real bubble. LIke a bubble isn't a square, it has slopped sides. Mayb ethe helicopter was above it, so didn't affect it. If it had been closer maybe.
