With time travel looking like a strong reality in the show, I have a theory. What if Richard is really Aaron of the future and Abbandon is really Walt of the future?

that would put and intresting spin on things!

I LOVE IT!!! But in keeping with the anagrams does Richards name turn into something?

if richard is aaron and walt is abbadon...

first thing: are these two characters working towards the same end, or they on opposite sides of the war? we don't know their motivation. i think it's safe to assume that richard wants to protect the island by his association with Ben. Abbadon is working for Widmore; what motive would walt have for ending up working for widmore? richard/aaron could be looking for answers surrounding the disappearance of his mother (claire)...and abbadon/walt could be hoping to avenge his father's fate (michael)?

I like it! When Locke was in physical therapy his "orderly" did seem to have some affection for him and it would make sense that it would come from the influence Locke had on him when he was a child. Walt was old enough on the island to remember Locke... unlike Aaron who was just a baby and wouldn't have remembered his face.

So when are we going to start hearing Micheal yell Abbando-o-o-o-o-o-on!

Richard does have a slight resemblence to Jack. Not really Claire, Christian or Claire's mom. I don't think Abbadon looks like either Walt, Michael, Michael's wife or Michael's mother. Although I suppose it is a TV show and not real life...

My thoughts about it....
Richard/Aaron grows up and finds out the truth. He gets in contact with Ben or Ben finds a way into Aaron's life. He offers a way to save his mom by using the Orchid or Orchid 2( another Orchid in another location) if he helps him. In order to do this, Aaron must travel to different times in order to make sure things go different (like visiting Locke, recruiting Juliet, etc.) but since people are driven by free will, he can only gather the pieces. He can not actually change the outcome of the events. Walt/ Abbandon, on the other hand, blames Ben for everything that happen to him. The plane crash, kidnapping him, forcing Michael to do what he did. He made him live the life he has. He does not use his real name, he rarely leaves his room, he barely talks. So he wants to hurt Ben where it hurt him the most. So he teams up with Widmore to find him. By this time, Widmore probably has an Orchid station of his own and sends Walt back so he can destroy Ben.

Good theory, That would be interesting.

my two cents...
Ben got Walt, aaron, Ji yeon, Abaddon, Hurley, Jack, kate, Sayid, etc.. off the island and moved it, eliminating threats to his future leadership. Ben.. is crafty.
