My original thought and question about the changing directional codes, ie 325 to 305, is that Ben may have already moved the island. Although I do like the idea of multiple timelines but only one on the island. The solution could go like this....Ben and Jack meet, trying to find a common enemy, Whidmore. Ben trying to kill Penny, Jack trying to get answers. Jack and Ben argue, find Penny and ....Des. Questions ensue and Ben comes clean. Rough but plausible? Ben knows what is going on, as does Whidmore. The final answers, I believe will come from them...

I'm betting the bearing range from 0 to 360... or a circle.

"Childe Rolande to the dark tower came..." Hmmmm, yes? Are you thinking Steven King?

Oooh! Oooh! Two things that just occured to me, more evidence (maybe) of multiple timelines. Ok, remember earlier how I said that in the flash forward of Through the Looking Glass Jack is not lying or delusional or drunk/drugged out of his senses when he says "Go find my father upstairs and see if he isn't more drunk than I am!!"? My idea was that in that timeline Christian is still alive.

1.) Ok, to add to that, remember how the patient that Jack wanted to work on looked creepily a lot like Sarah, his ex-wife? What if it was Sarah? What if she is meant to get into a car accident in every timeline? Or if she is meant to meet Jack in every timeline?

2.) Secondly, remember the Enhanced version of Through the Looking Glass took special pains to point out that the doctor who replaced Jack as Chief of Surgery had the same last name as Bernard Nadler, the dentist? What if Bernard and Rose have a longer marriage in some timelines than in others? What if they even have children together in one or two of them, like Doc. Nadler, ferinstance? Bernard tells Rose in his marriage proposal that he was a bachelor for so much of his life because he never met the right woman. Maybe in another timeline he meets her much earlier.

I have no idea if that means that Bernard and Rose's child and that story inhabits the same timeline as the one where Christian is alive post-return to the world. It makes sense that they would, however, since The Powers That Be seem really intent on getting the Oceanic 6 back to the world in a very specific way (read: to a very specific timeline). Also, the scenario of those 2 events occuring in the same timeline would just be a whole lot easier to explain later. Relatively speaking!

Interesting ideas, yesno? Thoughts?
