Bernard Nadler

Bernard Nadler is a tail section survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 and the husband of Rose. He is the only tail section survivor that has not been killed, captured, or assimilated in to the Others. He wasn't seated in the tail section, and was only there when the plane crashed because he was using the bathroom then. Bernard cares very much for Rose and feels a need to fix things, like her cancer, not dissimilar to Jack.

I was wondering about Walt. I'm not sure. I haven't gone back to check but I don't remember anything about his birth... I think they skipped over that.

I'm not sure I agree with all of this logic but you may want to see how Aaron's birth could fit into all this. He's special too but the circumstances of being on the island are different. He did seem to be on the Other's list because they tried to have Claire leave him with them. What can you come up with to explain his story line?

Hmmm.... I don't know (of course)... Maybe Aarons birth on the island prevented his birth in other timelines? That certainly would make his special. I'm not sure about Aaron...

Ji Yeon, however, being conceived on the island by parents who cannot have children off-island, would be unique. I'm not sure about Aaron but if there are multiple timelines and the island exists outside them, then there is only one Ji Yeon. Like a little Korean version of the Highlander...

There are way too many possibilities to even start imagining. Maybe that is the beauty of the series. That it is very simple and all the people watching make it difficult. It kind of takes some interesting turns in these posts.

I don't think this is all that complicated... But I don't think the storyline will be all that simple in the end either...

Highbrow.. i too believe the bearings are different timeline entrances... naturally occurring... and the Orchid is the station that can manipulate these entrances so Ben and Richard can use them at will.
Perhaps as well there can only be one of yourself in all of existence.. One Ben, one Richard, one Tom... who then could travel to anytime, any world without fear of running into yourself. Tom, in Meet Kevin Johnson did say that only some of them ( I assume the Others) could leave the island... ie.. Time travel. I'm guessing that Colleen was burned up after she died in S3 because that was either the last Colleen in existence, or there is more, and the Others don't want the body around when the next Colleen comes stumbing though one of the 'doors'
