Eko vs. Monster

So why do you think the monster didn't attack Eko??? Here's my theory: the monster has to do with his past, his demons, and he's not afraid to face them. That's what was flashing in the black cloud, and when Charlie asked him afterward Eko said, "I was not afraid." If he's not afraid of them, they have no power over him.
I'm not caught up yet with season 1 so I don't know, has anyone else been "taken" by the monster besides the pilot?

noone else has been taken by the monster then the pilot.
Also we dont even know if the pilot was taken by the monster, we just assume.

that was some monster!!! any theories as to what it can be?? there was a story about some folks on another planet w/ monsters..they taught the kids not to beleive in them,,so the monsters couldn't touch them....mabe if you don't belive in it,it can't exist??

I thought Locke's leg was snared by the monster, or some kind of trap that was taking him toward a hatch or whole in the ground during season 1.

Nono Bots ... Michael Chriton's book "Prey" (if I remember correctly) They are tiny little machines (man made) that form a cloud, a black cloud.

The monster could be the eye of the island. the security system.

If you notice the pilot looks like Gerald Degrut (you know in the 8mm film, don't believe me, slow it down -- there's a reason JJ uses his best friend at the most essential parts of teh LOST story)

Uh, he didn't die...and then the nano bots take him (like they pulled LOCKE) and killed him -- now he can't share anymore information.

Of course we think that this is coinsidence...so that we don't get anymore information, but in LOST there is no such thing as coincidence! We should understand that by now!

Also, LOCKE has seen the eye of the island and it was beautiful! He wanted to be taken by the machines because he had faith in them.

What if they are being controlled by a "wizard of OZ" of some sort.

Locke is not what he seems. I believe he knows a lot more then what he is saying!

I agree with all of that except the clone-pilot thing. But that is your theory and It is a sensable one (for LOST that is).

yea and then Jack saved him and Locke was pissed, I think he said something along the lines of "I could have made it!"

Why, though? Why would Locke say that? How would he know? Even if he experienced what "SHAFT" did, why would he think he would have been alright?

The answer to this question is why I believe Locke knows a lot more then he is admitting up to!

The Monster Tried to drag locke down a hole underground. I think that was a different monster though cuz' locke wasn't afraid.
