Paulo

Paulo was one of the middle section survivors of Flight 815. Before the crash, he and Nikki Fernandez murdered Howard L. Zukerman and stole his diamonds. They spent most of their time on the island searching for these diamonds to the exclusion of almost everything else. A bite from a Medusa spider induced a death-like paralysis in Paulo. He subsequently died as a result of being buried alive while paralized.

that's a cool idea, but I don't get how a statue from the future could end up a ruin in the past?! I know there's a time travelling element but can't quite work that through in my simple mind!!

Apparently the writers wanted 6 toes on the statue but ABC said it was too freaky, so they choose 4 because they didn't want a 5-toed statue.

So on that evidence, I'd say its from the past (aswell as it's only the foot of the statue left, and if it was from the future wouldn't the statue just not be there as the survivors/other people on the island can't time travel (we've only seen 2 peoeple)..

(We might of had 6 toes at one point, who knows.. with us apparently losing our little toe in the future)...

6 toes..like M. Monroe? All these ideas are interesting..especially the evolution-related stuff with little toe.
