It would be cool if Sawyer is the real chosen one. It seems to fit that you need a conman to run the 'Other' outfit. Ben did torture him and went on a little walk with him, maybe to see if it WAS Sawyer who was chosen. Richard may have had it right, that Cooper had to die and Sawyer could be the one to kill him, maybe Cooper ws meant to come to the island for Sawyer after all. Sawyer has had the biggest character change, I think, of all the Losties so far.

Why must it be a chosen one? Who says it's not a chosen group? Maybe 815 crashed because the right group of people were together that can run the island. The same could go for the Black Rock ship. IDK. Just an idea.....

Great idea Aljoe.. like a dream team. I think a committee of Sawyer and Hurley could run things quite well. Hurley did help a lot in Sawyers character change. Certainly conned Sawyer!!! (although it was the worst con in history, Sawyer's words, not mine)

That would be cool if our Losties became the next 'Others'. I guess if Widmore took the island back, and started another DI, then the Losties may become just that.

The only problem is that it seems that the groups that have been on the island in the past have all had a purpose there. The people that were brought there, Juliet, did not want to stay. There are a few that want to stay on the island, Sawyer, John, Bernard and Rose, and a couple that want to go back, Jack and Hurley, but the ones that exist well there seem like they have always been there and have that connection with the island. The Island could be restocking itself, but that still leaves many questions unanswered.

We know that when Desmond failed to push the button, it caused the electromagnetic annomaly that inturn caused the plane to split... Now the writers have said that the island was not moved at this point but SOMETHING happened.. i believe that the plane broke off into 2 timelines or maybe points in space... the plane that they found at the bottom of the ocean is the ACTUAL plane as is the crashed one on the island... due to the elctromagnet charge release, the island or destiny (whatever force may be working) doesn't know if the pasengers are atually dead or alive.. hence there being 2 timelines now.... the "island" thinks they are alive, the "real world" thinks they are dead... they are both.. and that's why they belong on the island... it's the only place where them being alive makes sense... there are therefore in fact 2 x each O6 character who escapes the island... the ones who actually left.. and their dead corpses lying at the bottom of the ocean in the plane wrekage....

I think the plane in the water was a fake, because the bunny only got duplicated because of a mistake, and it happened because of the device at the Orchid. I don't think the Swan and that machine would have the same, or even similar applications.
Both Ben and Widmore have good reason to fake the crash evidence, and I believe either is capable.
