Kate Austen

Kate Austen is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Kate is a fugitive, and was being pursued by Marshal Mars prior to the flight, for blowing up her father. Kate had been captured in Australia and was being escorted back to the United States before the crash. Kate has always seemed to run away from her past. Even on the Island, Kate exhibits a kind of evasive behavior to escape from her problems. Kate, when on the run, always had good intentions and never did any outright harm or killings to anybody, she believed she was doing things for the greater benefit of others. This view is prominently connected with her actions of her father's murder - she believed she was relieving her mother from his abusive presence. Kate is strong-willed, useful and clever, but dislikes being alone and is usually level-headed.

She has escaped from the captivity of the Others with Sawyer, and has formed an ambiguous romantic relationship with him, despite still being unsure about her feelings for Jack.

I think Ben's man on the boat is....*drumroll, please!*...Ben himself. When Locke asks him to spill the beans, Ben says "OK, but you're going to want to sit down for this..." It's some kind of time traveling thing and the reason why Ben on the boat hasn't made any effort to go see Ben on the island and make sure he's ok is because they can't be in the same place at the same time or KABLOWEEE! like we saw with the bunnies. A cute clue to that was Ben's comment to Locke tonight about his dinner "Did this bunny used to have a number on it?"

How do you explain her death on the island?

OK, granted...just a theory.

But hear me out. In "The Other Woman", Ben tells Locke to sit down before telling him who it is. Then in the promo for next week, it says that another of the oceanic six is revealed, and then there is a shot of someone holding a piece of paper that says "don't trust the captain" and then it says that we will see someone we never expected to see again.

I think Libby was Ben's "man" all along, getting des on the island, spying on hurley at the mental hospital and now, his man on the boat.

oh i posted after that ben digs her up and sends her out of the skiff with michael and walt and then she time lapses back to when she was alive.

it's a stupid theory i guess.

now, the thing with your theory...if the man on the boat is ben himself, wouldn't miles and his friends have seen him there?

I don't know if Michael being on the boat would be surprising enough for Ben to tell John that he needs to sit down. Ben knows that John has experienced the magical healing powers of the island not just once, but twice. They shared a Jacob experience. These guys are both chin deep in the island's mysticism. If Ben is telling John to sit, I think it's going to be something that would be surprising even to someone who would credit the island with miraculous abilities.

This is just a wag, but when that scene faded to black, I got a gut feeling that Ben himself was the man on the boat. I think it was the twinkle in Ben's eye that made me wonder: Who would be the last person John would expect? Perhaps the man John thought he'd been keeping as a prisoner?

I seriously think it is either Michael or Ben himself. This island isn't even reality to the rest of the world, so anyone that dies on the island is not "in reality" even dead. I also strongly believe that this whole thing has to do with time travel, appearing random places in different times or places which is why we keep seeing Walt pop up randomly and the therapist. So Ben is fully capable to be on the ship but I also think Michael is on there, because they told him to travel at the same points the whole time and that he would eventually find help. HELP- YEAH RIGHT!
