Now, obviously it's a theory, but I have been thinking that Ben may have been through similiar or exact circumstances as we are being shown now, but this time he is prepared.

For those too lazy to go, here is a sumation of the thread...
Ben has no other guy on the boat, because he set the whole thing up... Abaddon works for him. Ben needs Miles to communicate with Jacob, needs Charlotte to figure out the four toed statue and some other anthropological crap, Farady to understand better the properties of the island... it's utter genius.

I appreciate Ben's genius a lot actually, but don't feel too strong about the theory. Like you said though, it is a theory only and might turn out to be valid to some extent, with more episodes to come.

Miles and Dan and the pilot Frank.. To some degree I can actually see the use these 3 might have for whatever plan Ben has in mind,. But Charlotte, despite being an anthropologist, wouldn't be able to give more info on island, than Richard Alpert would. Mind you it seems as if he is the only native left around, and always appears to hold valuable information in spite of his quiet stance.

Then again, maybe these people have something to do with the construction that James and Kate were forced to work at, back in Season 3. Maybe that's where Charlotte's profession might come handy.
