Vincent is Dead

What if Vincent is dead and is really just one of those things people see like Jacks Dad, Kate's Horse Ect.

Another funny thing is Only Jack could see his dad but both Kate and Sawyer saw the Horse.

What if Vincent is the one in the mental hospital and everything on the island is just his hallucination? Nah, not enough tennis balls on Lost Island.

Pip, this is absolutely your best theory yet... i'm not kidding. I had this thought myself during the second season, and again when Vincie bought Hurley to the VW bus. The mini episodes however, kind of disprove it, if you believe that Jack's dad is Smokey/Jacob, why would he talk to himself. Or not

Maybe theres more going on.

I like this theory. It fits in with one of my own; the one that says Jacob can become one with the souls of others who have died and make them appear to some of the Losties. This would include Walt (when he appeared to Locke), Jack's Dad, Vincent.

I also think the whispers are from people who have died. Especially after seeing the mass grave in TTLG.

Jacob can also control the smoke monster.

The dog in the painting is a sheepdog. Vincent is a lab. But to go along with your theory, you think Walt is dead too? Does that mean you think the Others killed him and Michael right when they were out of sight of Pala Ferry? Or do you think they died in their attempt to leave the island--like they capsized and drowned or something?

If the Others are trying to keep Jacob under control and that means keeping people (especially angry people?) from dying, wouldn't the Others want to follow Walt and Michael to make sure they survived the trip?

I don't neccasarily think Jacob would come to anyone that is dead, he may come to anyone AS anyone who might have influence on the life of the person he wants to have contact with. If Mrs. Hawking was Jacob, then perhaps Desmonds grandmother was an important person in his life, and Jacob decided to use an old lady. Walt had an affect on Locke, so he used Walt, but that doesn't mean Walt is dead.

I'm 50/50 about it being Jacob or Walt. Especialy after seeing the sneak peak of confirmed dead. It could be either. But it is definitely one of them. Either way were gonna learn lots of new stuff.

The others did say they "got more from Walt than they had ever imagined" so I dont think they would turn around and kill him. He had one of those Locke-esque connections to the island anyway. And while Ben was held captive by the losties he scoffed at jack saying "they would never give you walt..."

You never see them feed vincent....

are you mistaking vincent for walt? How would he be dead if everyone sees him?
