Bernard Nadler

Bernard Nadler is a tail section survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 and the husband of Rose. He is the only tail section survivor that has not been killed, captured, or assimilated in to the Others. He wasn't seated in the tail section, and was only there when the plane crashed because he was using the bathroom then. Bernard cares very much for Rose and feels a need to fix things, like her cancer, not dissimilar to Jack.

Hey Darnzy, I was thinking about the typhoon comment. I could agree with that, but the contents of the boat seem in order, dynamite stacked, etc. Maybe someone tidied up after being deposited by a wave, but I would also expect more damage from a ride like that.
What if the island has grown since the time of the Black Rock's crash on the island. What if the island is an entity in itself, and grows under certain conditions other than volcanic.

another problem i have with the black rock, its at least 200 years old even a very hard wood like oak would have decomposed a lot by then, the only way i know of that would would not have decomposed is if it was kept in an area where there was very little oxygen the most likely senario for this would be underwater

therefore the only way i think that the black rock could have been so far in land is if the sea level was a lot higher 200 years ago and some how fell very rapidly within probably the last 10-20 years

from this we can get an explanation of the sea levels falling, the hanso foundation and therefore the dhama iniative where carrying out environmental experiments, with sea levels rising the reversing of that would have been i believe one of their main aims, if they found a way to reverse rising sea levels then the island would have "grown" which would explain why the black rock was so far inland and also not as decomposed as it should have been

finally this would also explain why everything was so neat in the black rock, it had sunk and landed on the sea bed and not moved for centuries.
