Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Hurley's father disappeared when he was at a young age for almost 17 years. Afterwards, Hurley suffered an eating-disorder and after a traumatic accident he was sent to a mental asylum when he started seeing an imaginary person. Ever since, he has changed and has been extremely concious of his sanity and how people view him. When Hurley won the lottery, he was not overjoyed, instead he was fearful that his life was going to change. Hurley is typically happy-go-lucky and keeps the spirits of his fellow survivors up. He has an eating disorder but has managed to overcome that with the help of Libby, and has even stuck to it after her death. He is also the voice of reason in the group, and uses his common sense to solve difficult situations. Ever since winning the lottery with the mysterious numbers, he has searched for an answer for the curse of bad luck that supposedly plagues him.

Lightbulb The Crash

I believe that maybe on their way down falling from the sky in the plane segment, they may have traveled into future and landed on a common island such as cuba or the bahamas but in the future all civilization, industry, and economy has been wiped away and they are some of the only living humans.

Default transformation during the descent to earth

It's interesting you say that. It reminds me of the novel The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie. In it 2 characters spend more than the first hundred pages falling from a plane in the sky. During their descent to land one of them sort of transforms into a devil and the other sort of turns into a god.

Good stuff "ooook123". Time is def a factor in LOST. Look at all the ancient stuff on the island. The four toed foot, the collum Lockes dad was tied to, the 19th century slave ship in the jungle, and finally the mentioned "Temple" in the season finale.

Default Einstein

Also one of Albert Eisteins theories had something to do with if you traveled fast enough you would actually traveled into the future.
And yes all of the ancient artifacts have many things to do with this whole time theory also the fact that jacob lives in a little shack without electicity and how they couldnt see jacob only some could and that might play a role in dimensions such as jacob being in a completely different dimension but some can still comunicate with him.
those are some thoughts off the top of my head.

Not a bad idea at all oooook123. I thought i heard somewhere that our litle toe is an appendage that will be gone through the evolutionary process. I've gnawed mine off now, so I'm more advanced than any of you, but, that's for another thread.
So the technology on the island, though it looks old to us, is in fact very advanced. I like it.

well if the EMP that desmond set of was strong enough. it could have pulled the airplane forward in time.... just slightly.. making it dissappear from those of us the "present".

When i communicate with the dead... I never see them... but for the times when i when i dont look directly at them.. its like the human eye... we all have a blind spot where our optic nerve head connects to our eye.

the point is... Our minds fill in the Blind spots and gaps for us. When you look quickly form left to right you mind is filling in not only That blind spot constantly, but also information not focused on by tthe center of the eye.

On the same side of that coin. There can be things we do not "see or " visually percieve... that DO exist. this can occur for 1 of 2 reasons... It exists in a non visual form... OR since we are taught to believe certain things are impossible. our mind's eye would not register somethng outside of what we believe is possible.

( otherwise stated if you dont believ in ghosts or entites like Jacob... you'll never see one... but if you DO... the chances of you mind and/or eye percieveing them are far greater)

Cable... i am sorry to say, that while you may have thought that a good idea at the time... but much like the oringinal inhabitants of the island.. you dont realize is that now you wont be able to do the following:

Count to 10 on your toes...
walk with a pimp limp
walk without seeming drunk
hang from branches upside down
run
bend it like beckham

or

Make love to a woman. (that the true love... not the fake stuff)

hence the lack of children on the island.

Default Dual realities

I always assumed that the magnetic explosion that Desmond caused in the Swan hatch somehow caused the plane to exist in two separate streams of reality at once. Like the movies Sliding Doors or Run Lola, Run (which I just watched now and is still as good as the first time I saw it, thanks). In one valid version of reality flight 815 is found with no survivors. In another equally valid version of reality they crash on Craphole Island (as Shannon so delicately put it). A lot die because of the crash, some live, Charlie pines for Claire, Sawyer pines for Kate, the Others are introduced to the Losties, Eko makes his Jesus stick, and y'all know the rest. Anyone with me on that theory?

Default Faster than the speed of light

[quote=oooook123;31318]Also one of Albert Eisteins theories had something to do with if you traveled fast enough you would actually traveled into the future.

Einstein also said that travelling faster than the speed of light would cause someone to stop aging, or at least to age a whole lot slower than when travelling at the normal speed (Earth goin' round the sun speed), which might account for Richard and his Dick-Clark-creepy-refusal-to-age. Just a thought.
