Nikki Fernandez
Nikki Fernandez was one of the middle section survivors from Flight 815 and is first introduced in "Further Instructions". She had spent most of her time on the island trying to recover the $8 million diamonds she and Paulo had stolen from Zukerman, her staged lover, before the crash. She received a Medusa spider bite that induced a deathlike paralysis and she died after being buried alive alongside Paulo.

Why it would be a mistake to leave the island ...
My son came up with an interesting theory , He thinks the losties caught the illness/disease that Danielle Rouseau was referring to in her message about everyone else in her group being dead .... and if or when they leave they will surely die b/c the island has healing power . It really adds up to me , that may be why Jack was taking the pain meds ... the illness is affecting him already , plus the death of one or more of them already . I hate to admit it but Locke was probably right all along .

Rousseau brainwashed in Room 23
I like your son's theory. It makes sense. My one question is, if the island has so many healing powers, how come Rousseau's team didn't survive the illness?
I don't think it was a sickness in the usual sense. I think maybe the Others used Room 23 to brainwash Danielle's team. Maybe it convinced them all to become violent (a la Jacob's Ladder, anyone see that movie about military brainwashing in Vietnam? Very thought-provoking) and Rousseau was the only one to actually survive it? Maybe only she was brainwashed to think that her team was infected, so she would "put them out of their misery"?
Rousseau was the only woman on the team, right, and certainly the only pregnant one. To me, she would have been the only one of the group the Others would be interested in. The rest were disposable.

Or, according to the Lost Experience, during the Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program - what was really going on with the organ harvesting was they were looking to see who actually contracted the virus. [Mittlewerk scusses taking "radical action" and killing innocent villagers under the pretense that they are bringing a cure to a disease carried by macaques. In reality, they have engineered into the virus, and are purposefully testing it. A 30% mortality rate will help them solve the equation by altering one of the core values, extinction through over-population. They require all the bodies of the dead for full genetic research because they only want to kill off thirty percent of the world's population to save the remaining seventy percent. ] - The Lost Experience
Apparently some people are naturally immune to the virus (if you think the virus and the "sickness" are the same) which might explain why Rousseau survived and why Jack is terrible in his flashforward.

Lost Experience/organ harvesting
I understood almost nothing of what you just wrote because I missed the Lost Experience. (Darn it!) Two questions I have for you:
1.) How much is a thorough understanding of the Lost Experience necessary to understand what's happening on Lost, to make connections, etc.? If it turns out that the climax of the whole series only makes sense to people who know the Lost Experience I'm gonna be one p.o.'d camper. Yessir, I am.
2.) You mentioned something about organ harvesting in the LE. Does Locke's kidney have something to do with that?
Curious,
CPPAH
