I like your son's theory. It makes sense. My one question is, if the island has so many healing powers, how come Rousseau's team didn't survive the illness?
I don't think it was a sickness in the usual sense. I think maybe the Others used Room 23 to brainwash Danielle's team. Maybe it convinced them all to become violent (a la Jacob's Ladder, anyone see that movie about military brainwashing in Vietnam? Very thought-provoking) and Rousseau was the only one to actually survive it? Maybe only she was brainwashed to think that her team was infected, so she would "put them out of their misery"? Rousseau was the only woman on the team, right, and certainly the only pregnant one. To me, she would have been the only one of the group the Others would be interested in. The rest were disposable. Or, according to the Lost Experience, during the Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program - what was really going on with the organ harvesting was they were looking to see who actually contracted the virus. [Mittlewerk scusses taking "radical action" and killing innocent villagers under the pretense that they are bringing a cure to a disease carried by macaques. In reality, they have engineered into the virus, and are purposefully testing it. A 30% mortality rate will help them solve the equation by altering one of the core values, extinction through over-population. They require all the bodies of the dead for full genetic research because they only want to kill off thirty percent of the world's population to save the remaining seventy percent. ] - The Lost Experience
Apparently some people are naturally immune to the virus (if you think the virus and the "sickness" are the same) which might explain why Rousseau survived and why Jack is terrible in his flashforward.

I understood almost nothing of what you just wrote because I missed the Lost Experience. (Darn it!) Two questions I have for you:
1.) How much is a thorough understanding of the Lost Experience necessary to understand what's happening on Lost, to make connections, etc.? If it turns out that the climax of the whole series only makes sense to people who know the Lost Experience I'm gonna be one p.o.'d camper. Yessir, I am. 2.) You mentioned something about organ harvesting in the LE. Does Locke's kidney have something to do with that? Curious, CPPAH Quote:

During the game last year, the producers said over and over that the game had nothing to do with the show and held no insights into the story arc. There were a few things, such as some history of the Dharma Initiative, ancestors of a few of the lesser characters (the Widmores), and the saying "Namaste", which I have heard some of the Others say.

I" like your son's theory. It makes sense. My one question is, if the island has so many healing powers, how come Rousseau's team didn't survive the illness? "
cuz they or she first misdiagnosed the dis-ease rather than letting it take its course same as allowing the 2 thiefs to be buried alive .. IF they had waited they would still be alive.. Dharma was up to no good.. MAYBE harvesting body parts cloning humans ..animals ect MAYBE doing experiments to test bio weapons or even vaccines to save the select few humans on the planet whom are chosen to live while MOST are getting the smokey date and /or deep sixed Dharma is JUST a test experiment to be redone on a global scale look up the UN plan to control world population SCARY! |
