Juliet's Revenge?

I was just thinking. Juliet seems awfully cold-blooded sometimes when discussing the losties.

Could she be plotting vengence against them for Goodwin's death?

Ethan's, too, for that matter?

I dislike Juliet very much. And agree she is very cold towards them. If she is plotting revenge for Goodwin...who is left from the tailies? Ana Lucia killed him and for all we know Ben ordered Michael to kill her because of that. So Juliet should be satisfied. Really Ana Lucia is the only one responsible for that. The other tailies are all dead except for the ones they took and sweet old Bernard. Ethan deserved to die, he was going to kill Claire and he pretty much did kill Charlie. So she shouldn't blame them for that one. But Ben seems to know where they are going so maybe this was all part of his plan for some reason. He could've gotten word to her once he realized his recorder was missing? Had to go to plan B. Or this is part of her and Ben's plan all along. The marking the tent thing could've been a decoy plan. Makes more sense to march the Losties (minus three of their armed men) down the beach and surprise them than trying to take on the whole camp. Then again, we see the Others going to the marked tents so... If I had to bet I'd say she is bad. Maybe she is preggers and realizes that if she gets off the island it won't cure her because the problem starts at conception as she said. So her only hope is to figure out a cure on the island. Experimenting on Sun and whoever else.

I agree that she "shouldn't" blame them. But...remember the way she looked at Hurley when he said that they'd killed "one of your guys" (meaning Ethan)?

From Juliet's flashbacks, both Ethan and Goodwin seem to be nice guys. But Goodwin coldly snapped that one tailie's neck and tried to kill Ana Lucia. Ethan hung Charlie and murdered Steve (I think that was his name) in his sleep when he (Ethan) was trying to get the losties to give Claire back.

But in Juliet's memories, Ethan is always kind and and worried about her wellbeing, and Goodwin is her lover.

I think she might blame all the losties.

I don't think she really cared that much for Ethan and Goodwin, even if Ethan was nice and Goodwin was her lover. I think her primary goal is to get off the island, and she will work with whoever she needs to to make that happen. That used to be Ben; right now, she sees working with Jack as her best way to get off the island. Goodwin was probably just a way to pass the time, anyway.

I also recall her trying to explain to the losties that Ethan's actions were "misunderstood." He was just trying to get blood samples from Claire. In her mind, Ethan and Goodwin were just trying to watch and gather information on the losties.

And the losties killed them.

Remember Dan and his hatred for Sawyer? They never explained why he was so set on killing Sawyer.

Maybe Ethan or Goodwin was one of his close friends.

I think that Danny Pickett hated Sawyer because "our Losties" killed Colleen his wife and he was taking it out on Sawyer because he knew there was something between Sawyer and Kate and was going to take his frustrations out on him!

He was going after Sawyer before Colleen was killed (his fight with Sawyer at the rock pile).

I think we're missing a couple of interesting lines of speculation if we dismiss how deep Juliet's love for Goodwin might run (I know I putting it waaay to heavily here).

But...

I think Ben has feelings for Juliet. Could the antagonism between them be partly explained by Juliet's relationship with Goodwin? I was replaying the tape where Ben's is ordering Ethan and Goodwin to go to where the airliner came down. When he orders Goodwin to go, there is a reaction shot from Juliet, her head swings around and she frowns at Ben. When it was aired, I thought she was just reacting to Ben having the losties watched instead of offering them aid (help whoever might be injured). Now I wonder if she was reacting to Goodwin being sent out alone into a possibly dangerous situation. Or wondering if there was an ulterior motive to Ben choosing to send Goodwin instead of someone else...like Richard, for instance.

It would also explain Juliet's irritation at the book club when someone points out that Ben wouldn't like her choice in books. Her reaction also fits someone who is getting tired of fending off an unwanted admirer (because she is already in love with someone else).

Given the scriptwriters' love of throwing curve balls at us, I thought this might be worth exploring. Sort of, if this were true, then the audience will have to re-evaluate everything they thought they knew previously.

And Tom told Jack that Juliet and Ben had history. Which usually means they had a thing. Maybe she dumped him for Goodwin. Also interestingly, when Ben was strangling Ana Lucia. She said that Goodwin was trying to kill her and Ben asked "Was he?" That guy Nathan, that Goodwin killed, gave me the major creepies. And Goody told Ana that 'he was not a good person'. Maybe Goodwin, was a Good guy. I'm pretty sure that Juliet hates Ben but that doesn't necessarily mean she is working against him. Think they'll ever show us what Ben and Juliet talked about on the operating table?
