maybe Jacob and the island are one???? and he wants locke to help him because Ben has lost sight of the true reason why the island exists.

Little Princess may be on to something. I was thinking that Jacob might be the embodiment of the Island.

However, here is another thought. Jacob might be a prisoner. Did anyone else notice the circle of ash that Locke stopped to look at? It seemed to encircle the shack as if it were a barrier. And we all know that barriers either keep stuff out, or keep stuff in.

I don't know but I saw soooooooooo much jealousy and rage in Ben when Locke could hear him. Do you guys agree that Ben was pretending to talk to him and then Locke was the one that truly go to hear him?

I think you might be right, I guess. I dunno, the whole Jacob Shack was kinda goofy to me, until the shake rattle and roll started. Ben talking to the empty chair was just odd. And then Locke's back is to Ben when he hears the Help Me. So was it Ben fooling Locke or what. I was glad to see the screen caps that show "Jacob" sitting in the chair cause otherwise the whole Jacob Shack was kinda whack.

This might just be me but I thought that Jacob kind of looked like jacks dead father like maybe that the Jacob= island and that the island might have taken a human form? And the Smokey = Jacob I think that there might be some kind of rational thought to this because if you look at all the people they are all connected so that might lead you to think that everything on the island might be connected? But I don’t know

All I know is the "Help me" reminded me of the original version of "The Fly", who also wasn't really too visible.

I still don't think Ben was talking to the chair. We all heard "help me", and Ben altering his voice, and making the crap hit the fan in the cabin. Come on Ben isn't that good.
