Benjamin "Ben" Linus
Benjamin "Ben" Linus is the leader of the Others on the Island. Ben arrived on the Island as a child, brought by his father Roger to work for the DHARMA Initiative. Ben takes orders from Jacob, and is the only person who visits and speaks with him. Ben's apparent goal is to keep the Island and its special properties secret from the outside world, and he goes to great lengths to achieve this.

Widmore has very deep pockets. He most definitely has something to do with the Hanso corporation. He is not Alvar Hanso.
It is also a theory that Jin was going to deliver the watch he got from Paik to Widmore.

Okay, here's where my geekiness kicks in... Alvar Hanso founded the Hanso Foundation (the Parent Company for the Dharma Initiative), and sat on the Widmore Board of Directors, until while Hanso was being treated for a mysterious blood disorder he was basically taken in-home hostage by Thomas Mittelwerk. Thomas Mittelwerk then proceeded to take over the Hanso Foundation and Alvar Hanso's seat on the Widmore Board of Directors. The Hanso Foundation had Paik Heavy Industried construct a gigantic medical ship to sail to Africa where they conducted a vaccine program (but really it had to do with virus experiments)

Maybe Mr. Widmore is a neat-freak, or has OCD, or has a minimalist view of decorating. lol

at the begining of the thread i was talking about penny's father (Charles Widmore) paintings in his office. I found that one painting that claire's boyfriend made was in Charles's office.
That means that claire's boyfirend and penny's father are connected.

You know, I'm not of Scottish descent (the closest to it is my Welsh blood) however I love scotch, so that might well kill me too!
As for Charles being Hanso - he can't be. We've seen photos of Hanso for almost 2 years now and he looks nothing like him. What we have seen, however, raises another great question. In his most recent picture Hanso appears to be around 50-60 years old, but his bio puts his birthday in 1897 - so he's 110 years old now???
