Ben takes orders from Jacob, and is the only person who visits and speaks with him. Ben's apparent goal is to keep the Island and its special properties secret from the outside world, and he goes to great lengths to achieve this.

Lizard - didn't I already post some of that on "remaining flashbacks"?
Spoiler for spoilerish spoilers:
The Juliet secret goes public is that I think she might be the gay character on the show.
AND there will be others shown in upcoming epis with the coveralls on (the VW will be back, too), and Ben might not be really Ben at all (just like he tried to say his name was Henry Gale). Ben also wasn't born on the island in the conventional sense of the term. The Scientists that were attacked (Mikhail's story said the scientists attacked them, but that was a lie) are the ones seen as impure. And the Hostiles (who are NOT the scientists, but Mikhail and Ben's group) saw themselves as pure.

Oh silly! I don't care... I just thought you had read it, but must have forgotten it, that's all! I have no thunder to steal! LOL! Btw - it's a good detail!... it leads one to speculate that he is dad, uncle, brother, grandfather, cousin, nephew...WHO???

I would lean towards Roger being his father just because their has been so much talk and reference lately regarding Abraham and Isaac. Maybe Ben is symbolized as Abraham and Roger to Isaac who knows.

Copin - Do you mean like Roger is Abraham and sacrificed his son Isaac (Ben) to God (Jacob)? That's pretty good. And unlike the real story - Jacob didn't spare the son, but took him instead. Is that maybe why Ben says, "God doesn't know we're here!" (Meaning the real God -because of the bitterness at being abandoned by his dad?)
LostinHazzard's idea is pretty good, too, though! LOL!
