Hello all first time post, i think smokey is a machine and the smoke covers its metal, what do you think or has this been said before.

nope, i think it mimics the sound of a machine. Not a machine, nor something from Prey novel.

Why mimic the sound of a machine in a jungle? It doesn't make sense.

I agree with you, boodikon, I think it is very much mechanical, but that the smoke masks its true form.

Why or how? That is still the million dollar question!

i just don't see how the smoke is masking or covering up anything. All the different ways we have seen it move and fly around. It seperates into different parts and then joins back together. Smokey just seems to be smoke, we have kinda seen inside it with the picture flashes shown to Eko.
Maybe there is a machine underground, but all I see above ground is smoke.
