Locke's Dad

New here so I probably don't know what I am talking about.

But...seems to me that Locke's Dad could very well be Jacob and Sawyer and in fact Ben's Dad too. I do not believe he is a prisoner of the "Others."

Ridiculous, perhaps? Possible? Your thoughts?

Well it is LOsT so I guess anything is possible....
I definitely think Locke's dad is the real Sawyer, but not Jacob.
A lot of people are saying that the guy they have tied up is not even real, just smokey taking the form of Locke's dad.
I think it is really him and we will find out the he was on flight 815 too.

OK. So, the real Sawyer? I must have missed that part. I do know that the sawyer that we all know and love's real name is James Ford, but i dont remember the real sawyer.... Hmm, I'm not sure that ben's dad is also lockes dad, ben was born on the island, and unless lockes dad was able to leave it and then find it again, it seems unlikely. But as folie has mentioned, it is LOST afterall.

I think that Locke's dad could be one of them. It would also be interesting to see him mixed up with Sawyer some how, like if they worked together at one point. It would be trippy if he was Sawyer, since we know he changes his name...but I don't know. Guess we'll have to see!

I've been thinking both of these:

1. That is is Sawyer and Cooper actually ties into multiple characters in negative ways.

2. Ben said that whatever you wanted would be there when you opened it. I think Locke just thinks he sees him (or it could be smokey) but it could be that he wanted to see him. To give some closure. I think Ben knew Locke would want to see him so he told him about the box to play with his head. => I don't really know if that made any sense...

Yea, i think you're on to something Lanie. Ben wanted to get john weak and realize that you cant run from your past. I really like your idea of John just wanting to see his dad in the 'magic box'. This will be a good one to see pan out.

On the other hand, sort of, maybe John needs revenge on his father for what he's done to him, stole a kidney and broke his back! Attempted murder, and grand theft kidney. Will John be able to show his father some wrath, or will Ben have to intervene and show coop some wrath of his own!

If that's true -that is crazy that john would think of his father above all else. Or if Ben made smokey show up then was he trying to get John to lose faith in the island again and, ergo, lose his leg strength again because ben's jealous of locke's island relationship?

I wonder if the box affected the red sox game as well.

I dont think that the black smoke is able to take the form of human beings that are fully dressed. Unless i missed an episode where the smoke actually transformed.... How would Ben be able to summon it upon his own will also? I think there is a VERY VERY VERY small chance that coop is actually make from smoke...but thats just me

yeah I don't like the idea of Locke's dad being smokey in disguise either.
I think smokey could be behind all the other strange appearances on the island like Yemi, Kate's horse, Jack's Dad and so on
But I think the guy tied up in the chairs is the real Anthony Cooper.
