I havent seen any theory about the strange things surrounding Walt... Maybe I missed the thread, sorry in that case :P
But when Walt was still in Australia with Brian and was reading in his book about birds, the moment after, a bird flew against the window and was dead. When Michael went to get Walt, Brian also said: "There's something about him, whenever he's around strange things happen..." And last, but not least: when Walt was reading in his Spanish comic book, we could clearly see a polar bear in the comic book. A few moments later, Walt is being attacked by a polar bear... |

Walt was a subject of an experiment by the dharma group that involved brain waves and imagination. They injected him with something when he was a little kid. Whatever they did to Walt gave him the power to bring his visual thoughts to reality and the dharma group purposely crashed the plane to bring him (and everyone else) there for further testing. The "others" work for the dharma group and tracked down walt to bring him in.
Kind of a weird theory i know but its all I could come up with. Im not saying there aren't any holes in it, but i think its possible. Let me know what you think.

I think Dharma may have been involved in selective breeding and somehow arranged Michael and Walt's moms meeting, knowing the result would be a child with special abilities. Dharma has been in place for sometime and I believe it had an impact on each survivors life long before the crash.
Doesn't it seem strange how Walt's mother only seemed to want Walt and then nothing to do with Michael, somehow Dharma brought those 2 together for the singular purpose of producing Walt. |

have to agree with you on dharma being involved with all the survivors before the crash. I think its very possible and its what i believe.

Walt is a product of, The Hanso Juxtapositional Eugenics Development Institute
Juxtapose: place or deal with close together for contrasting effect Eugenics: the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics. Developed largely by Francis Galton as a method of improving the human race, it fell into disfavor only after the perversion of its doctrines by the Nazis. Michael, the artist + Susan the intellectual = Walt who has some sort of mental powers |
