The Black Hole Island

When Ben finds out the Losties have a sailboat Juliette gave a very reveling response. She said something like, "Who cares! Let them sail in circles."
This would have brought to mind that Desmond could not "sail away" from the island.
Michael was given "very" specific coordinates to get off the island.

I do not think or suggest that the island is in outer space. I think that there is a sort of Black Hole or Worm Hole. (Think Jody Foster in Contact) That has to be entered and exited from perfectly.
This could be why desmond's girlfriend is searching with such high doller equipment insted of "Google Earth!"

Remember only half of my ideas turn out to be total bunk!

i dunno!! i think the co-ordinates Michael was given were correct, Desmond tried sailing his boat using his own co-ordinates going by traditional mapping, & with the Magnetic pull i think it puts all compasses off key, like the one Locke gave Sayid. & the writers have stated the show has no super-natural elements involved, A black hole is a lil far out there i think............

i can see it. i definately agree about the island not being normal and everything. maybe it's floating? invisible?

Well worm hole maybe- although the plane would have to fly into it and then a boat be able to sail out- pretty big. Probably not a black hole as my 7 yr old is sooo into AStronomy and we just saw a program about the great physicists and how Stephen Hawkins has proven that the matter going into a black hole is given off as radiation and the black hole will eventually "wind down " do nothing so to speak.

I am not talking a full blown super nova Black Hole.
I am thinking more alon the lines of the way a magnet pulls something into it. Also it repels things that are of the opposite pole.

Lots of wierd things happen with magnets.

Yes, remember Ben says somthing along the lines of, "god cant see us"

something, and somthing big and powerful is hiding them...
