Default The Black Smoke

Has anyone noticed the signifinance of the trees to the "monster"? I don't know if it is a stationing thing or energy nourishment or echosystem or what...but they seem to be connected.

Has anyone noticed this...are there any other thoughts?

Not sure I understand what you mean by significance of the trees to the monster. Are you referring to how the monster never comes out in the open from the forest?

Indeed that question is very vague. But when we speak of monster the usual picture is the trees falling down so I guess there is a phisycal connection in the fact that the monster pulls them out.
I think this post will not at all help you, but then make it more specific.

The Monster is invisible. Because, what that hell was hooked to Locke's leg? And The french chick said it was a Security system. The only time you've seen a glimpse of the monster is when it ripped the pilot from the plane. We'll seee if it's really invisible, but that's the only way to explain how we've seen trees ripped up in front of our eyes, and we've seen nothing.

Is the monster, the security system and the pillar of black smoke the same thing, or different things?

It would sound obvious that a monster cannot vaporise itself into smoke... but then who knows.

I was wondering the same thing tsimer...It seems to me like they're separate, but it's all kind of a mystery.

They are probably connected in some way even though Rousseau says it has something to do with the others.
