Johnathan "John" Locke

Johnathan "John" Locke is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. His paralysis was immediately healed upon crashing on the Island, which has ultimately led him to believe he has some sort of special connection to the Island. He is sometimes shown in antithesis to Benjamin Linus, sharing several traits including the ability to commune with Jacob. Seen as antithetical to Jack Shephard, he and Jack are philosophical opposites and used to share leadership among the survivors, but now seems to be creating his own agenda for his actions on the Island and has broken off from the survivors.

That actually sounds like a pretty good theory. He seems pretty mad and he also seems to know more than he wants to admit on "Forest living".

But I have a few doubts on the Mad-Voodoo-Junkie-Witch theory. He might know how to create vaseline out of plants but he probabl can't create gigantic pillars of black (most probably toxic and pollutive) smoke.

Anyway, May The Force Be With You

I've posted this before elsewhere but if you look at the cover of the book "PREY" you'll see the black smoke.Open it up and you'll find out what it is.The author is Micheal Crichton.Laters

I've read Prey and that's an interesting theory for the "black smoke." The only problem with it is that when the project started on the island, I doubt the technology level would have permitted creating a "security system" that was or has become what Prey featured.

I think that the black pillars of smoke and the "security system" are different because the pillars of smoke were coming from something burning in a fire where as the "security system" smoke was just kinda hovering and moving on its own. Just a thought

I thought the thing that grabbed locks leg was a mecanical trap attatched to some metal chains. The researchers probably set up booby traps around the island to protect their secret project. dunno what the smoke was though.

hey do you think the others are the research personell gone mental due to their own experiments?

I think that they are either research personell that went crazy or test subjects that have gone mad after all the things they were put through.
