Cool theory
But if it were a "Blackhole" as you stated. In theory the two guys at the monitoring station would not have picked up an electromagnetic anomaly. Due to the fact that the blackhole would absorb all matter that tried to overpower its escape velocity. Could be possible it opened a wormhole (like the tv show sliders)? That would make them and the island virtuall invisble to the "real" world as they would be in a different space-time . The bremuda triangle and Atlantis come to mind, especially with the four toed foot. were did all the lost planes and boats that ventured into the bremuda triangle go? To the island of the lost of course
