Alvar and Gerald were sitting around when day when something popped in to their head "Hey, what if we try to recreate classic books, and see how accurate they are?". So they found their people, put them on a plane Oceanic flight 815 (Oceania is the name of the country that the main character of "1984" lived in). They crashed the plane in a simular way the "Lord of the Flies" plane crashed (Scattered around the jungle). So now what....Well they are forced to create a society, a form of government almost, all the while BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING in the form of DHARMA...There is no way to escape the eyes and ears of DHARMA ("1984") whether its the Pearl hatch with its monotoring system, or the black smoke monster, EVERYONE IS BEING WATCHED. The Hogs from season 1, a theme from "Lord of the flies".

So hey now the losties are doing well, the others and DHARMA are the equivalent of Mr. Pikington and the other farmers from "Animal Farm", and for now it will seem that the others do not want the losties to succeed. Battle siege, lies, and propraganda, these will all be tactics the others will use to confuse the losties.

So now the real test, what kind of society will the losties form? A communist society, simular to the one created in "Animal Farm"? A Totalarian society simular to the one in "1984"? A Fascist state, where they only trust those who were on the flight? Or will they band together as a simple swarm group mentallity?

Inside the hatch that the others have been guarding is a room simular to Room 101 from "1984" this is a test to see how long the human subjects can hold up, or how defiant they can be against opressors...Or how faithful they are to their new lostie society. So that hatch is the Torture or interrogation sect of DHARMA.

So, wrapped up in a nutshell, it is an experiment to see what will happen when the situations from books really take place when applied to living thinking humans.

P.S. Its kind of a stupid theory, I really dont believe in it myself, but its another idea for the collection.

To be honest I like this one- the part with seeing what kind of "society" they come up with.

The part that doens't work with most of the theories is of course why did the plane crash a not do some safer landing to ensure who survived .

That brings another question- are there dead people that should have lived?

Hey what if maybe Jack's dad wasn't really dead and Zombie father went into the cockpit and caused the crash!!!!

wasn't there some acient society that people were trying to find or learn stuff about or whatever that had a big statue by the sea - am I thinking of atlantis - I so remember seeing something about it on discovery channel. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Yea thats the 1st thing that came to mind when i saw it too. There are so many weird things popping up I don't know what to do with myself!!!
