Dr. Jack Shephard

Dr. Jack Shephard is often seen as the main character of the series. He is a spinal surgeon and the de facto leader of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jack has control issues and trouble dealing with situations that he cannot fix. However, this attitude of solving problems through reason has given him the ability to function well in crisis. Sometimes, if he feels guilt or pain over a situation he can't fix himself, he will do anything he can to fix it, even borderlining on obsessive. Jack is, most of the time, in control of his life, emotions and situation he is in and is able to keep a cool head in tense situations. Jack is also the half brother of Claire Littleton, although neither of them is aware of this. Jack has formed very strong bonds with Kate and Juliet while he has been on the Island.

Bi tch.

****e, not you Christa.

Wanted to say a forbidden word m'dear.

I'm tempted to say Britains most forbidden word now but LOST might tell me off...

Nah I'll swerve it actually.

It began with a 'C' by the way and is a 'lady bit'

Christa - the storm you're enduring is what I went through yesterday. A tornado touched down just outside of town and thankfully stayed away from me. I hope you have the same luck.

That was a very disappointing episode.

Not tooooo disappointing, but not as good as I was hoping. And what happened to actually being extended. I dont count 4 minutes as really be extra long.

Agreed. That wasn't worth calling the episode "extended."

Hey all.

I think it gave some serious insight into the others. My mind couldnt stop thinking about what he said about the list. The only problem is how the show rotates and infuses riddles together, its probably the most well written suspense show to date.

Don't know if I'd say it was the best written ep but it certainly dropped a couple of details that would seem very important to the overall mystery.

First the list which seems to say the Others had advance notice on who was to be on the plane (or they determined who was to be on the plane in advance).

Then there's the comment about the suspected Other that was thrown in the pit when the real Other said he killed him rather than "took" him because he wasn't "good." That seems to say the Others (or the people/forces that control them) knew something about each passenger long before the plane "crash." Whether "good" meant moral, ethical, etc. or meant suitable for some mysterious purpose wasn't clear.

That all came from one scene then at other times less obvious details were given:

The little boy with the teddy bear that he dropped at his sister's side when she was being revived. Looked like the same toy carried by the Other in the earlier ep.

When they found the bunker after setting up the camp off the beach the Dharma symbol for a different station (had an arrow in the center) from the one in which Desmond operated (had a swan in the center) was seen briefly at the entrance.

Something not resolved was Mr. Eko's origin. He seemed to be one of the passengers, given his clothes but his first appearance was on the beach. I couldn't tell if he was already wet from saving himself or from having begun rescuing others. So he could have originated from another place and is neither an Other nor a Flight 815 passenger. Maybe he was on the dope-running plane.

Since I always miss something, I'm sure there are other details someone else caught. These are what stood out to me.

What was so disappointing about it? I personally thought it was the best one in a while cause it told us so much

The question I have about the people taken being "good" is that everyone we have seen from the front end of the plane seem to have done something bad or are guilty of something:

Jack and his Dad
Locke and his Dad
Charlie and his herione habit
Hurley and the Bad numbers
Kate and being on the run
Sawyer and what ever he did
Jin and his working for Sun's dad.
Michael(i dont know)
Shannon and Boone(Shannon was more bad than Boone)
Sayid and Nadia and The CIA incident

Well that's my theory. It was an ok episode, I was expecting more and the only true thing we learned was about the list. The question I have is how the Tailenders never 1) encounter Danielle 2) the "Security System".

and how come the only time we saw/heard them hear the whispers was right before Ana shot Shannon. Wouldnt they have heard the whispers before?
