Kate Austen
Kate Austen is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Kate is a fugitive, and was being pursued by Marshal Mars prior to the flight, for blowing up her father. Kate had been captured in Australia and was being escorted back to the United States before the crash. Kate has always seemed to run away from her past. Even on the Island, Kate exhibits a kind of evasive behavior to escape from her problems. Kate, when on the run, always had good intentions and never did any outright harm or killings to anybody, she believed she was doing things for the greater benefit of others. This view is prominently connected with her actions of her father's murder - she believed she was relieving her mother from his abusive presence. Kate is strong-willed, useful and clever, but dislikes being alone and is usually level-headed.
She has escaped from the captivity of the Others with Sawyer, and has formed an ambiguous romantic relationship with him, despite still being unsure about her feelings for Jack.

I emailed the info@thehansofoundation.org to enquire about one of their positions. Here is the email I sent:
"Dear Sir or Madam,
I am interested in hearing more about your personal assistant position. I have been a personal assistant to several people at my current organization for years. I am moving, however and have to quit. I am locating to New York and saw that this position requires travel to and from New York. I have experience working in both non-profit organizations as well as educational and medical institutions. I am proficient in both public relations and office management. I have a working knowledge of several computer programs and software as well as familiarity with Macintosh computers and Personal Computers.
I look forward to hearing from you about this position. Good luck and Namaste.
Sincerely,
Tracie A. Simer"
You think they'll bite?

First of all, it looks like we have some new players, so welcome everyone
I was attempting to keep a list of all the clues - it's the sticky thread at the top of this forum - but I am sadly behind. Some of the posts in this thread are referring to earlier clues. I'm at work now and am so busy I shouldn't even be out here (shhh....don't tell anyone), so I'm going to refer this site:
http://thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com/
These guys have done a great job of posting and archiving all the clues so far. For those of you who are just starting (and you don't mind spoilers to the game), it's a great way to get caught up.
Here are some posts that refer to clues that took place before last night. The clues still work and I would still try to follow them - it's fun.

After you have gone there & clicked her links, etc go to Peter Thompson's bio page...there are letters popping up over his pic. I can't seem to catch them. Anyone?

i was on the Hanso page looking at A. Hanso' bio, and i left it there for a few minutes, then heard a weird noise...where it said the time before, it now said OBEY, so i clicked on that and it took me to a page that had 6 tv screens, all with snow over them, and obey in the center, i could only click on screen, but i had to repeatedly click it to light it up and then move on the the next one. I did this for each, then it went to apage that said "Code: Heir Apparent"
now i'm trying to find what this code is for...
|
This one happened last night - I think it was just because they were trying to update the Hanso site and some funky things were going on for awhile.
One more thing: I've read where there are some clues that you have to do (like signing up for the newsletter) in order to be able to see/get to the next clue. Check that blog site I posted. I think it tells you there.
Enjoy.
eta: tsimer: you didn't put down that you were willing to lie, cheat, steal and keep your mouth shut about any illegal/immoral things you might see, so I don't think you'll get the job

http://thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com has unveiled this mystery, but i seem to be having some problems.
anyone know how whats wrong? it seems as if you don't need a username, just a pw. the pw field is in a different font than the username. the same font that the passwords are always in.

I think there are several ways to get the password to work. I didn't have to do this (last night), but I found this on another site:
Quote:
Now, this next step is VERY IMPORTANT. There is a secret link hidden at the bottom of the job descriptions. You must click that and be taken back to the Hanso Foundation website. As best we can tell, that should help any problems you might be having with the password.
Once on the Hanso site, click to the Board of Directors section and click on Vanderfield and/or Peck on the Hanso site. We think anything or nothing works for a login name.
|
I didn't know about the hidden link on the job descriptions page. I was able to go out to the Hanso site and go to the Board of Directors page. I then used 'dcheever' as my login and Inmate Asylum as the password. After I read your post, I tried to do it again (I'm on my work PC, last night I was at home) and it wouldn't let me enter a password. I think it's because as you work through some of the clues, it has put a small, harmless cache file on your computer and it's keeping track of where you're at in the game (I'll try to find the board where I saw that explained and get a better description).
