Hasn't the season been great so far? I love that we are still all so lost even with it being the last season... they are doing a great writing job!

Good to have you back! Whether or not you've seen anything about this season or not, there has to be something just from watching 5 seasons that you are hoping to see!

Island girl - Many discussions allude to biblical imagary however most of the physical clues are egyptian mythology in origin. the statue is the egyptian god Sobek (Sebek) who was worshipped to placate the crocodiles. Anubis would have fit in better to the thought that Jacob is the guardian of the underworld. Remember that "Jacob" means deceiver. Any way, Sobek assisted Isis when she gave birth to Horus (Horace of the Dharma group?). His father is Osiris (the big god). The kings were the earthly embodiment of Horus. Horus killed Seth (Seti), the god of chaos. Sobek rescued Horus' 4 sons from death and then Anubis (god of the underworld) gave them funeral duties. Eventually they became the protectors of the internal organs. Why Sobek was chosen I don't know. Anubis would have fit the underworld/gods symbolism better. However, the writes of LOST are generating their own mythology by mixing and matching ancient gods of several different civilizations. ALSO the statue is holding an anhk in each hand. The anhk is the egyptian symbol for life ( and female).
Jacob and his counterpart are more like warring angels than the biblical Jacob and Esau.Look at the fish Jacob catches - it is a large goldfish which is fresh waster, not saltwater.
A mutal friend has the idea that each of the castaways symbolises each of the 7 deadly sins. HUM.

So what did you think of last night's episode? I've always liked Richard, but last night Richard was kind of scary! I am soooo glad that TPTB finally put to rest the time thing. Miles and Hurley's conversation was excellent. I did notice BigD on this site said the same thing as Miles in the "LaFleur" section. Dang! I wish I would have figured it out! LOL!

What did you think of last night's episode? What the heck is going on with Sayid, and where did he run off to? Did you think Kate had someone in her house when Sawyer came over? Hurley is waay smarter than me - I never saw the Sawyer/Juliet thing coming before this season, but he did. Why does the Oldham not live "in town", but in a tepee and use no electricity? What is going on on this crazy show!
