Desmond David Hume
Desmond David Hume was the lone resident of the Swan at the time of the Flight 815 crash. He was discovered by Locke, Kate and Jack a month later after they had blown open Hatch. After his failed attempts to leave the Island, Desmond joined the camp of survivors. Following the destruction of the Swan, Desmond gained a mysterious ability to see flashes of the future, with which he predicted Charlie's imminent death.

Cut-off opening credits
I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but I'm not sure how best to search on this topic: why are the opening credits cut-off at the edges when watching Lost on network television? I'm assuming it has something to do with digital, hi-def broadcasting, yet the shows that preceed and follow lost are not this way. It would appear that those of us watching on Network T.V. are not "seeing a lot of the picture".

That would be cool Wednighter. It may just be my local broadcaster, and not occur in other areas.

Do you watch it on a widescreen TV Can o' worms? The only things I can think of is either your watching high-def on a regular square format TV, or you have your widescreen set on the wrong viewing ratio.

Okay, i just watched the season finale on ANOTHER tv, this time my moms newer flatscreen LCD and again the cut-off opening credits (this time on digital cable). wtf, man? I can't be the only person on this board experiencing this. My mom noticed it and said that it doesn't happen with any other programs.

what screen ratio were you watching it on? If you were watching it on a HD channel your screen ratio should be 16.9, if it's not an HD channel your ratio should be 4.3. You might want to call your cable provider maybe they are the ones that are messing it up.
