I was reading around another forum that has been shutdown but kept all their topics archived, is it true that Hugo owned the Box comapny that Locke worked for?

I have heard both of those mentioned in other forums, that Hurley bought the box company and that his boss also worked at the box company (and that maybe he bought the company to fire his old boss). It seemed as though whoever was posting it thought it was fact, but I don't know for sure if it's proven yet or not.

Maybe Locke's accident at the box factory was caused by the bad luck Hurley puts around.

I dont think Hurley actually puts around bad luck I think he THINKS he does. Because the Numbers supposedly killed Sam Toomie. Mrs. Toomie said it was the Numbers's fault, but she was kinda whack. But the guy in the mental hospital (brain dead! I cant remember his name right now) also said that the Numbers are bad. But after all, he was in a mental hospital. So I believe Hurley only thinks he's bad luck. But your theory is definately possible.

It has not yet been proved that Hugo and Locke had the same boss but I am very sure that hurley bought the box company that Locke worked for.

Actually, Sam Toomie's wife thought it was ridiculous to blame the numbers.
She told Hurley " you make your own luck"
Her husband believed they were bad luck and so did Lenny.
But she didn't believe the numbers were cursed.

She did not believe in curses. When I first saw the episode she was in, I thought she was going to haul off and smack Hurley for saying the numbers were cursed. She turned in evil devil woman!

You have to wonder though if Hurley (I have a hard time calling him Hugo) didn't give her something to think about.
She believed that it was just Sam's imagination about the numbers. She had no reason to believe otherwise. ( although hitting the exact number of beans at the carnival or whatever it was would make me give the numbers a little credit) What we fear we create
and Sam chalked up every single bad thing that happened to the numbers,
just like many people do. If you believe you have a curse put on you, you blame it for everything from tornado to burned toast.
But she stuck by Sam and even let him drag her to the middle of nowhere
to escape it even though she didn't believe in the curse.
Then Hurley comes along from thousands of miles away and tells her the
same thing about the same numbers. Do do do do, Do do do do
