Huge Topic. The Real Meaning Of The Numbers!

Ok wow. I don't know if this has already been posted by i am hyped. I KNOW WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN! Ok my sisters boyfriend and i were talking a bit about the show. I DID NOT MENTION MIKHAILS DEATH. He already knew but it was his new favorite character. His old one was Eko. So yeah....We talked about the lost experience. I asked him what you got when you won it. He said a Dharma video that tells you what the numbers mean. I went insane and went home and watched it. The numbers are actually a number equation that tells when the world will end. Dharmas job was to attempt to change things to be able to change the core value of these numbers to change the day the world will end. Don't get it? watch this video:

Right! The numbers are part of the Valenzetti equation. Part of what Dharma was about was trying to alter the end of the world by altering the equation. There has been speculation that the Italian man that Jack operated on (unsuccessfully) was in actuality Enzo Valenzetti. What do you think about that?
I think there has been lots of commentary on the Valenzetti equation and the numbers-> do a search and you will be even more excited on all the stuff you will find.

Thank god more people have heard of this. I was scared only the people who played the Lost experience knew. Why did the producers say that we may never know what they mean at the comic con when we do know what they mean already? Confusing.

I think they mean what they mean by being on the hatch, being concidered unlucky numbers by Hurley.. We know they are variables but do not really know how they link into our characters and why they are concidered to be "unlucky"

So this theory is official?
I was trying to find a sense in the numbers, because the producers were going on and on about how they do have a meaning and were not just randomly picked...And I just entered the numbers on wikipedia^^ Well, there I found the Valenzetti equation and I was so excited, but I didn't know if it was indeed the answer to the whole mystey.. So, the numbers are officially solved?

well to a point....
I believe the Valenzetti equation is the origin of the numbers, but this alone hardly explains all of Hurley's experiences with them.

Well I guess maybe the fact they are the equation for the end of the world they also are a bit cursed too? This is a satisfying answer for the numbers for me. Although they act as if the equation = sometime soon which scares me a bit. I am thinking maybe soon we will start trying to change these numbers? Still got 3 seasons and not enough to do. I mean I think everything could be covered up and end a bit before season 5 ends. So they must have some new missions for us.

I think just because we know what the numbers are, an equation doesn't mean we know all about the numbers.. What does each variable represent? Why did they bring Hurley bad luck? Why does people who are not on the island concider them cursed.. There is more to the numbers we don't understand yet.. IMHO

DITTO on that point . If it is so easy to google search and come to the equation than the meaning BEHIND the equation may be the thing to research . Lets face it the END OF THE WORLD means many things to different people .

Well umm ok. The number predicts when the world will end aka when the world will be destroyed. The ways they said that it could be done were things like nuclear war, over population, ect.

The end of the world means the end of the world.
