Dr. Juliet Burke
Dr. Juliet Burke (née Carlson) is a member of the Others. She seems unhappy with her allegiance (particularly, it seems, with Ben's position of authority), and lives at the Barracks. Juliet is a calm, intelligent woman with a background in medicine, but unhappy with her private life and will do anything to get off the Island. However, it seems Juliet has betrayed her people and joined the survivors in wanting off the island.

UGH!--so frustrating! And a big question about human nature.
One thing that trips me up about this show is that SO many characters keep new information to themselves rather than share it with the group. If they would all only trust eachother, they would all know so much more about what's going on!!! Think how many deaths could have been avoided. Boone's, for one. If he and Locke had told the rest of the group about the plane they found, they could have built some kind of pully system to get inside the plane safely. OR they could have all pulled it down to the ground together. Either way they could have gotten the radio safely. (Yeah, I KNOW: "Boone was the sacrifice the island demanded," but come ON, people!)
At the very least you'd think everyone would confide in Hurley because he's so non-threatening and helpful.
QUESTION ABOUT THE SHOW:
Speaking of sharing information; do Bernard, Libby, or AnaLucia (et al.) ever learn that it was Boone they heard on the radio? And Boone never tells Locke he heard anyone on the plane's radio either, right? Because he died before he could tell anyone, right?
* * * * * * *
I guess the frustration with characters and their choices and with knowing more than the characters and not being able to help them is one treat/frustration for the audience. It's that "NO! Don't go in there!" feeling you get watching a horror movie. You have to love it or change the channel.
QUESTION ABOUT HUMAN NATURE:
Do you think that NOT sharing information is what people would do if this scenario were real life? As in, in a life or death situation do people naturally band together or do they become totally self-interested? There was Jack's whole "live together or die alone" speech, and everyone SAID they agreed with it, but do they really? Maybe you think that normally they would only be out for themselves BUT because of having to fight the Others the Losties would sensibly band together and share their info.? Which is the more realistic response?

Well the answer to that question of Life is, of course, 42.

So - why do I hear the word "gestapo" rattling around in my brain, CableRunner. I would form a counter-intelligence group on the island to form a resistance movement to your self-appointed leadership position. To quote Dwight Shrute "Information is Power." Plus, I do have some skills that would inevitably lead to the success of my group over your group. And what are these skills, you ask? "You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills... Boys only want girls in their camps who have great skills." But I digress... And my spies would infiltrate your weekly meetings and seed them with false information, just like Lostpedia.

Lions, and Tigers, and BEARS 0H MY! Oh, please! Everyone who is anyone knows that a bear's favorite food is what? --> honey! Therefore being SO charming that I was able to charm the bees ~ they made me their Queen. And being the Queen of the Bees I have limitless access to boundless stores of honey. And to quote my boyfriend Will Shakespeare, ""What's in a name? That which we call honey By any other name would taste as sweet." Therefore the bears no longer have to eat fishbiscuits, but honey --> so now the bears are on my side. Also... Unbeknownst to CableRunner, I have Aquaman-esque powers, so the Dharma Shark is actually my friend and is just lurking in the water off-shore for an opportune moment to devour CableRunner. And the boars... well, the bees protect me by stinging the boars' noses and they just run off into the jungle until the bears have a chance to persuade them to my side.
