Ok, I just started rewatching Season 1 and somewhere in the first half Sayid and Jack are struggling to move all the Losties' stuff up the beach because it's eroding too fast and their things will be swept out to sea. They both comment that the tide is weird on the island. It rises to fast or too early or something. Also the beach is eroding too fast to be normal. They speculate that the group won't be able to live on the beach much longer because soon there won't be a beach.

My question: How come nothing ever came of this? Later they move into the caves and then back to the beach with no issue. We never again see or hear them stuggling against weird tides. We never get the impression that the beaches are uninhabitable. What gives? It seemed like we were getting a major clue...and then nothing. Also, who remembers which episode this was in?

i cant remember exaclt which episode it was in but i remember it, i rewatched it reciently thinking it was probably something to do with weird magnetim that was affecting the tides, i think that was sometime before sayid foudn out that north didnt appear to be where it should be in the island so i always thought it was due to this that the tide was weird there and may be why it doesnt seem to have affected further up the beach

I do not agree with everything you say, but i will defend to the death your right to say it.

They were mainly concerned in season one because of the water shortage. But after awhile they figured out ways to keep water on the beach. And on the beach they had more space and all. The little huts made out of plane wreckage were too close to shore and were being swept out so theres another reason.
