James Ford

James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.

He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

Not to mention the Looking Glass station was a long way from the beach where Joanna drowned.
I see what you are saying Lizard--> about Bonnie being recognizable by Charlie from the first few days on the beach, but there was a whole plane-load of strangers just dumped on the beach, so maybe Charlie hadn't interacted with her. Jack didn't know who she was and neither did Kate [ergo the need for Hurley to make a list] - Kate had to go find out from Joanna's friend Barbara who she was and why she was in Australia AND "she WASN'T supposed to be on that flight",
Plus, couldn't Greta and Bonnie have taken the sub around the island to the Losties' beach, or even walked and slipped into the water down the beach? How did Ethan manage to get around all the alarm systems when he was on his little tyrade? Didn't our Losties decide he had come in out of the water?

I'm not completely convinced that Bonnie and Joanna are one and the same, and it could be what CableRunner said above - especially in light of the "Orchid film"... It's just interesting that Joanna died without us meeting her (we didn't even get a good look at her in the water!) and Joanna is the one who kept the "diary" (gosh! if you type "diary" wrong it comes out "dairy" and that would really change the story!). Plus with Greta and Bonnie, according to Mikhail, supposedly in Canada but not - what could they be doing?

I've never understood Scott's death. Didn't make much sense. I think it may be because Boone was sleeping.

I don't understand why Ben wanted Greta and Bonnie there so much.

Also White Rabbit and Through The Looking Glass have really neat connections. In a way so does Greatest Hits.
