Nikki Fernandez

Nikki Fernandez was one of the middle section survivors from Flight 815 and is first introduced in "Further Instructions". She had spent most of her time on the island trying to recover the $8 million diamonds she and Paulo had stolen from Zukerman, her staged lover, before the crash. She received a Medusa spider bite that induced a deathlike paralysis and she died after being buried alive alongside Paulo.

Default Richard, his Dick Clark-like non-aging, and time travel

I just posted a theory about how Dr. Candle/Wickman/Halowax are all the same person, not clones, but the same person who travelled from different points in time all to the same moment in time.

(The only fly in my theoretical ointment is why do the Dharma Initiative scientists need to experiment with rabbits if they already knew how to do it with people? And why bother with experimenting at all if you could be taught the perfect method from future experts--future experts who happen also to be Future YOU!)

So this got me thinking about Richard and how he appears exactly the same throughout Ben's aging from chldhood to adulthood. My theory is that a person who could time travel would never have to age. Every time Richard starts to visibly age he could just go visit himself in the past, share his knowledge of time travel, kill himself, and then the younger version could time travel right up to the point before "current" Richard kills himself. (And he wouldn't even be afraid of dying because an earlier incarnation of himself would have already visited him and explained the whole process before killing himself--my head hurts!) It's cloning without having to clone. No muss no fuss. Genius!

Time travel means cloning, but it also means immortality. What other repercussions does it necessitate?

I think there are some people around here that think this might be what is going on with Magnus Hanso and why he's like 150 years old. In the Lost Experience there is a mention that a nurse secretly drew some of his blood once while he was in the hospital (against Hanso's wishes) and when the blood work was performed there was "something odd" about the results.

Woah. You just rocked my world. Of course! It makes so much sense now.

So as soon as word got back to Ben and the Others that Mikhail had his brains liquified by those sonic gate-things, they went back in time to find an earlier Mikhail pre-liquified-brains-death to bring back to the present. Genius!

And if the "incident" in the Swan station was time travel related (I'm thinking the same person/bunny from different times appeared there at the same time and tore a temporary hole in the universe...or something) well...that would explain why Desmond was able to travel back to England and Penny in a time before he arrived on the island when he was late entering the numbers.

but Mickhail knew he had been hit by the electricty, i think if he had died and they had gone back in time and brought a new mickheil to the present would he necessarily know about the fence, would them telling him not just freak him out and liquify his brains in another way,

also witht eh harpoon through the chest, did they have time to know he was dead. the knew he had gone to that hatch, yet they did not know des was there aswell, and so they prob wouldnt realise he got harpooned,

It would also explain why Ben's mother is alive on the island. If she is actually alive... Creepy!

But who would have gone back in time to get her? Not Ben's father. He was pissed off that the Dharma Initiative wasn't letting him in on the big projects. Not Ben either. Could it have been Ben's dad's friend who got him the job on the island? Which station did he work in? Maybe she was a first experiment and because it went wrong somehow, she wasn't allowed back in the compound and her presence on the island was kept secret?

Well, Mikhail would know about the sonic fence and his death if the Others who went back in time told him about it. We don't know how long he's been on the island. He could have been telling the truth when he told Kate and Locke that he was the last surviving employee of the Dharma Initiative. He wouldn't freak out if the didn't go so far back in time that he didn't know he could die over and over again. If he does this sort of thing all the time and the Others routinely go back to find the Mikhail of say...only a day before he wouldn't freak out at all.

Well they might not have found out about it for 20 years or even 100 years, but still they could go back in time and fix it so that at that moment it would seem instantaneous. Cool, yesno?

yeah it could be like that, i didnt think of it in that way, however, if ben knew by just going back in time and sending him back to change it, or they could do that with anyone to stop charlie even getting to the looking glass, then no problem, but ben seemed very worried when jack got through to the boat off shore, if he knew he could fix it even 20 years ahead why wouldnt he be his smug usual self

Default Charley, Desmond, Bonnie, Greta & time travel

Maybe Charley had ALREADY flipped the switch to flood the Looking Glass 1ce before. Maybe since the Others had already failed to stop Charley 1ce that's when Ben went back in time to do it over again and the 2nd time around secretly sent Bonnie and Greta down there to be sure to stop him.

Bonnie and Greta kept asking, "Who are you? Who are you?" to Charley. Could they have been already anticipating his arrival? (Or the arrival of some other Lostie who performed the same function 1ce before??) Perhaps the fact that Bonnie and Greta weren't able to stop Charley is what freaked out Ben so much rather than his just the physically being down there. Maybe the 1st failure to stop Charley was considered a major blunder that had to be kept from most of the Others, so the whole "Bonnie and Greta were sent to do secret work in Canada" excuse was made up to explain their absence when really they were in the Hydra awaiting Charley. Mikhail didn't know they were down there. That tells me that all but the most senior ranking Others didn't know it either.

Furthermore, maybe the 1st time Charley flicked the switch Desmond wasn't with him (because that time he DID give Penny the ring instead of chickening out like Mrs. Hawking advised) and they had the advantage of surprise on their side. Maybe Mrs. Hawking was inserted into Desmond's story the 2nd time around for the same reason that Bonnie and Greta were inserted in Charley's story the 2nd time around??: To make sure all the "right people" get to the island and can't leave it.

Woah! Conspiracies are everywhere! Did you guys hear that Widmore is suspected of being involved in JFK's assasination?
