How come noone really freaks out when Naomi tells them that flight 815 was found? Charley, for one, is totally chill about it and more interested in the fact that posthumously he became more famous than when alive.

Do you think most Losties are assuming a different plane was found? Or is it more sinister and creepy?--Do you think that a lot of Losties realize they are in a place (and time???) so truly bizarre that it is actually POSSIBLE for civilization to have found flight 815 with no survivors, EVEN WHILE the wreckage, as the Losties know it, was either burned in a bonfire by Jack or they're living in pieces of it right now?

On that note, somebody once mentioned hypnotism (I think?) as a reason why noone is freaking out on the beach after the hatch is blown. Claire and Charlie have this very sweet and silly conversation and it's like everhything is totally coolio. Is the way that people DON'T react to Naomi's claim more evidence that they've been brainwashed?

And if they have been brainwashed? Why are the Losties still seen as such a threat to the Others? Why can't they just finish the brainwashing and let them live in peace?

I think, like Sayid said 'Lets not think about that now', that not truly thinking about the oddities of the island and their circumstances, it may be a type of self defense mechanism to keep your mind stable.

I doubt the Others have brainwashed the Losties at all.. I think there are probably rules about that, and I bet Ben took some slack brainwashing Karl the way he did.

and remember, about the hatch, not too many people knew the significance of the button, nor had they seen the orientation film. To them, they lost a couple of bunk beds, food storage and some fancy washer and dryer set sent as a gift by Bob Barker. Those who knew were the strongest individuals on the island.
