James Ford
James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.
He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

Close-up screencap of Jack's newspaper article (obituary?)
Hey there, all! I found this link online I know you'll love. Check it out:
newspaperclipping2.jpg (image)
What I can make out:
>Los Angeles
>
>Man Found...[Dead?]...Downtown [Loft?]
>
>The body of ...[L?]antham of New York was...[found?]...shortly after 4 a.m. in the...of Grand Avenue.
>
>Tod...man[?] at The Tower...[heard the sound?] of loud noises...[from Lantham's?] loft. Connected... covered the...a beam in the....[ac?]cording.....[?]med...
It's hard to match up the lines of text, but I'm pretty sure about the name Lantham. I don't think it's the obit of a Lostie/Other. I think someone we haven't met yet was killed by a Lostie/Other or died as a result of the actions of a Lostie/Other. The guy Sawyer mistakenly killed in Australia just before the crash, he was American. Was he from NY? The Tower could be Trump Tower in Columbus Circle. Of course, it doesn't have to be NYC at all...
Also, I think we've been misjudging the temporal disruptions on the island. At least, I have. It's not that they've been on the island a whole lot longer than they think, but the opposite! Maybe by the time they return to civilization they've only been gone a week and that guy's body has only just been discovered? That could explain why Richard hasn't aged. If so, "Adam and Eve" could actually be THE Adam and Eve. Creepy.

When i read this my mouth dropped...
It's a very good idea because of the populare idea that Kate is out of prison with a new identity which is to make her say nothing about the island. It is likely if this is true that it really could be Locke!!
But a thread somewhere found the measurements of the coffin and show it is too small for an adult with legs... Wierd but I can see Locke having his legs chopped off somewhere along the line.
One last thing... yanksfan75 i noticed too but i missed a few episodes in series one didn't Jack's dad disapear from his coffin and be seen walking what if the island brought him back and it was his living dad walking again. Just an idea...
Jacob in the coffin: interesting connection --- this is an iteresting thread too.
