I don't think it was the same bottle. Just shows that Cooper has a connection to this brand of whiskey. And so far the only people on the plane that could afford this expensive whiskey would be Hurley, maybe Boone, (anyone else?) but these characters haven't shown a connection to the whiskey. Boone had a flask at his step dad's wake so it could have been his on the plane.

There's another possiblity apart from Cooper being on the plane/brought to the island by richard...

He might have been generated by the box as soon as Locke landed.

Would this apply to other suvivors of flight 815?

When the people in the tail section were taken it was because Goodwin had them on a "Good" list. I do not see how Cooper could have made that list.

has anyone considered that he is the true leader of the island? the one the eyepatch guy referred to a couple of episodes ago when he said ben was not the head guy.

Maybe he had ben tie him up as a mindgame for Locke.

Con guys are always kinda magnificent until their con is exposed.

With the amount of research and the amount known about people who are recruited I would doubt that he could be a higher up, someone higher up than he would have been would know what kind of man he is... If a 20 something year old kid can find info on him I am sure that the others can as well!
