Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Hurley's father disappeared when he was at a young age for almost 17 years. Afterwards, Hurley suffered an eating-disorder and after a traumatic accident he was sent to a mental asylum when he started seeing an imaginary person. Ever since, he has changed and has been extremely concious of his sanity and how people view him. When Hurley won the lottery, he was not overjoyed, instead he was fearful that his life was going to change. Hurley is typically happy-go-lucky and keeps the spirits of his fellow survivors up. He has an eating disorder but has managed to overcome that with the help of Libby, and has even stuck to it after her death. He is also the voice of reason in the group, and uses his common sense to solve difficult situations. Ever since winning the lottery with the mysterious numbers, he has searched for an answer for the curse of bad luck that supposedly plagues him.

Im pretty sure one of the episodes coming up is titled "What Kate Did" so hopefully we will find out there.

Yes, we will get another Kate flashback - how many has she had now, 3? Maybe we'll find out why she left Iowa for good.

I only watched the episode once, but I got the impression Kate's mom had some kind of mental issues. I'll have to rewatch it, but something just made me feel like her mom wasn't quite all there...

I noticed that she called her "Diane" instead of Mom at the beginning....was she a foster mother / adopted mother....I know, I know, clutching at straws....I try....this prog really makes me think....no bad thing....

....also she said to Tom "Diane is sick. Thought I owed it to her to come visit her"....was it just me or did she call her "MUM" not "MOM" when she did eventually get to see her. She said it a number of times....I thought all Americans called their mother "MOM"......

Yeah we do say "Mom". Whatever the case is with kate and her mom, kate did something to make her mom terrified of her. Hopefully our questions will be answered in the episode where we find out what kate did.

Well, now we know that it was arson and murder that drove her and her mother apart. She gave her mom an insurance policy for the house she blew up with her dad in it. That could've potentially led to her mom's arrest in the murder, instead she turns in her daughter. Also, her mom cheated on her husband with Kate's father, that made me cry...the way the army dad cried with Kate.

Messed up famiy indeed.
