I was going back to some of the old threads... The Pilot episode actually and i wanted to pose something to the group.

The Pilot was called that, i would assume becuase when shows are pitched. they pitch a pilot episode to the networks who either like it and pick it up or no.

BUT... I pulled this from the pilot thread.

"They go back looking for Jack, and find him a little ways back, along with the body of the Pilot hanging from the top of a tree above them. They stand there, wondering what could do something like that."

The EPISODE ends with the Hanging Pilot.... and its the Pilot Episode.

Could Episode names be somehow clues?

I definately think the Pilot was about the dead pilot. The monster grabbed him from the cockpit when he was about to describe where their general heading was taking them. If the monster is a security system for the 'mind' of the island, then it sure wouldn't want it's lost occupants to have any information about their whereabouts.

I posted somewhere else too, I forgot where, that in S3E1 you see the place crashing, and definate Black Smoke behind the plane Before it gets ripped up. This could lend some credence to the fact that Smoky ripped up the Pilot before he could say that 'something' bought them down!

I like that idea. It gives smokey some serious motives and its another variation on how the plane crashed. Either the hatch and magnetism of the island pulled it here. or smokey was up there cruising around and decided to bring some more playmates to the party...

I'll have to rewatch it, but are you sure its not just smoke from the plane/engine damage?

I rewatched it last night, it's just smoke. Also another member put pictures up to show something else, and if you look you just see smoke. Wouldn't it kind of seem stupid to have all that suspence built up over Des crashing the plane in Live Togethr, Die Alone, and then to find out that Smokey ripped it apart instead?

NO i dont think it would be stupid.

it may be less that logical and effective in telling us what we want to know. But i do think that if they went that route, they would have done so to evoke more sympathy for Desmond. So we all feel it was his fault for a while... thenw when hes about to take on patchy.. we find out he wasn't responsible and That fills him with energy to sucessfully overtake patchy.

Do you mean Des takes on Patch Man in hand to hand combat? Or like in a scrabble tournament? What makes you think Des will take him on?

I wonder how many of the other survivors know he crashed the plane. (Maybe)

Well at this point on LOST. we know it could go wither way. I see some sort of Russian Scrabble-lette ( a variation on russian roulette )

well if there were two people who would appear to have bee stuck in hatches for a while. its Desmond and Patchy... but we know little about Patchy. His Peg leg could very well be Desmonds Downfall if they got into a scrabble scruffle.

It's possible that there may be a link between smokey and patchy. if that were the case and smokey/patchy took down the plane... Desmond would come after them becuase opf all the grief they caused him. ( long stretch i know)

well i dont know if WE even know desmond did it for sure. so the noobs prolly aren't in the know.

By the way have you like decided that because this guy has a patch he also has a peg leg and is a pirate? Hey,but you may be right. You know the bird that said Hurley's name? That is Patchy's talking parrot who has gotten huge from the weird radiation or magnetic force or something, and the Black Rock is his ship...I would laugh so hard if that turned out to be true. Anyway if Des didn't in fact crash the plane, and we find out somebody else did, and Des comes in contact with that person he might be a little upset. What if its both Smokey and Des? Des failing to push the button made the plane be pulled toward the island then Smokey being the protector of the island and all decided to rip it in apart? Aha!
