Benjamin "Ben" Linus

Benjamin "Ben" Linus is the leader of the Others on the Island. Ben arrived on the Island as a child, brought by his father Roger to work for the DHARMA Initiative. Ben takes orders from Jacob, and is the only person who visits and speaks with him. Ben's apparent goal is to keep the Island and its special properties secret from the outside world, and he goes to great lengths to achieve this.

what if he was quietly resigned to his fate on the island and it is really his relationship with her that is dead. or...

Maybe his love for Shannon has eclipsed that of Nadia so it's dead. or...

While he was detained in the airport, and was grilled about his reason for travelling, he mentioned Nadia, and they checked on it and were like, "Dude, don't know what to tell ya, but she's been dead for years." So, that's how he finds out? or...

Maybe he's really talking about Shannon and has had a psychic episode about her death? or...

Maybe he means a female family member in Iraq?

just thowing some junk out there for thought! dont rip me for being ridiculous haha
