Why did Henry get himself captured

I have'nt seen any of season 3 yet, because we have only just finished S2 here in England! So it might have already been explained,
I had a suspicion that henry was not just your ordinary other not
long after he got captured (got himself captured) which i'm certain he did! Because of who he is & his knowledge of the island & how long he must have been there, But what has really got me thinking is Why??
He already knew who they all were & a rough idea of what type of people they all were & how they were dealing with the situation,
To recruit Locke does'nt add up either, it's really bugging
me!! So...................... If anyone knows or got any good theories please let me know

Fake Henry was caught in one of Rosseau's booby traps. She told Sayid about it, who then told Jack. He got caught on purpose, so he could more closely inspect the Losties.

I'm not sure that's true though.... how did he know they wouldn't kill him?

Because Ben understands their instincts, and their habits.

And the Losties are good people.

Well they could have just aswell kill him.. it was pretty close if you ask me.. Still, if it was planned he's a mastermind.

I dont think he got caught on purpose. He just got caught by someone who knew he was a 'local and a liar'.

This is what I think happened:

The plane showed up, and Benry said to Ethan "I want lists in 3 days".
So they went off and did their best and got partial lists. Ethan got most of his list but then was compromised. Ditto Goodwin.

These Others communicate via 'internet'.. the old 60's internet...(Sayids beach Cable)

Henry then sent this msg:

"plane crashed, there are Actual Survivors...We caught Walt... he was great...Please send info on Dr Jack Shepard, Kate 'Dodd, Austin' whatever, and James 'Sawyer' Ford..etc I will intercept the drop, as I am the only one who can go to that side of the island. Afterall I used to LIVE there"

So THATS why Fenry was caught...he was trying to get to the food drop, hoping to find the hidden Bosox video, Jack BIO etc....

Agreed...Ms Clue (or however its spelled) seemed to be telling the truth to Michael when she said one of their people got captured (not that people always tell the truth on this show...but I'm believing this one)

where'd you get this from?? I still only managed to see S3 EP2 so far so still LOST!! take it, it was in an S3 episode, sheeeet!! I gotta get myself a new Lost dealer!! I cant wait knowing u'z over the pond know before us here in the UK!

not sure which comments you are referring to, but my post was referring to season 2, near the end - when Michael is in the Other's fake camp, and Ms Clue tells him the Losties have captured one of their people...
