 Boone Carlyle
Boone Carlyle was a middle section survivor of Oceanic Flight 815 and was Shannon's stepbrother. He attempted to assume a semi-leadership role with the survivors but failed due to being rash and young, though he became Locke's apprentice when the two formed a close bond. Boone survived on the Island for 41 days before he died of injuries sustained in a fall whilst he tried to contact 'rescuers' from the drug smugglers' plane. According to Locke, Boone was a sacrifice the Island demanded.

Kate's Letter
Hi Lost fans.
I was watching “Born to Run,” my favorite episode of all time, haha. Although I’ve seen the episode countless times, I realized that I was still unclear about something. Perhaps you could clear this up. When Kate reads the letter she received from the motel in her car, she begins to cry. I know that the letter was regarding her mother’s condition, but it is still unclear to me who the letter is from. At first I thought the letter was from her doctor friend, but he seemed awful surprised to see her sitting in the back of his car at the hospital. True, he does care for her and has the money to support her, but it just doesn’t make sense. I remembered how Kate revealed that she had been married once during the “I never” game with Sawyer. Perhaps the letter was from her significant other? I can’t imagine Kate having a relationship, because she is always “on the run.” Would someone clear this up for me or point me in the right direction? Thanks

Actually I don't think her mother sent that letter. If you remember correctly, her mother seemed awfully upset with her that she burned down her house [with someone in it...]. Plus, when she finally visits her mother at the hospital, her mother is appears frightened and calls out for help.
Overall it seems her mother doesn't trust her nor cares for her fully any more. So it is unlikely it is from her. |

when you say military father, you got me thinking of something.
I think it was in a Sayid episode there could we see Sayid sitting in a car and there was a man there holding a picture of Kate..
Who was that man? Could it be Kates father?
I'm totally out of the blue here so tell me if I'm wrong..

Wasn't car,military truck...yeah,he's the man Kate thought was her father,until she found out "Wayne"(?) really was her father,which kinda drove her crazy..
