Question Sweeny Todd anyone?

So I was looking around the video store this past weekend and came across Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I remembered seeing it advertised on TV back when it came out and thought hmm thats seems little odd. And as I stood in the video store looking at the DVD cover that same thought crept into my head: "This looks odd". So anyways I thought what the heck I'll give it a shot. Turns out I really enjoyed it.

For those who don't know, it is a musical, and I wasn't exactly sure if Johnny Depp could sing, but I thought he did alright. Helena Bonham Carter actually had more singing parts than Depp did, and I thought she was really good.

Well anyways I was wondering if any of you guys/gals have seen this movie, and if you have what you thought of it.

hey, I too enjoyed Sweeney Todd very much. The story was simple enough for a musical yet had all the eccentricity I like about Tim Burton's works. And HBC's acting left a better impression on me than Depp's.

yeah I agree, but more with the singing than acting.

The whole cast was really good though, each one seemed perfect for their part. I was kinda surprised to find out that the fake Italian barber was the same guy that was in Borat. (Sacha Baron Cohen)

You're right- it was Sacha Baron.. and was kind of refreshing to see him playing a character other than one of his infamous personas like Borat or the fashion guy, huh?- impressive actor.
