Hugo "Hurley" Reyes
Hugo "Hurley" Reyes is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Hurley's father disappeared when he was at a young age for almost 17 years. Afterwards, Hurley suffered an eating-disorder and after a traumatic accident he was sent to a mental asylum when he started seeing an imaginary person. Ever since, he has changed and has been extremely concious of his sanity and how people view him. When Hurley won the lottery, he was not overjoyed, instead he was fearful that his life was going to change. Hurley is typically happy-go-lucky and keeps the spirits of his fellow survivors up. He has an eating disorder but has managed to overcome that with the help of Libby, and has even stuck to it after her death. He is also the voice of reason in the group, and uses his common sense to solve difficult situations. Ever since winning the lottery with the mysterious numbers, he has searched for an answer for the curse of bad luck that supposedly plagues him.

the Dark Knight...yes!
It's been more than a week since the new Batman movie hit the theaters, just wondering what you guys think about TDK.
I enjoyed it quite a lot despite the length (152 min!)- Ledger's take on Joker was really exceptional- not to mention the rest of the cast (though I could do without Maggie Gyllenhaal maybe)
Imdb reviews wouldn't agree with me on this, but I'd say BB was more engaging and had better time-narrative management I think. TDK felt a bit too rushed in certain parts and rather stalled in between action/ chase scenes at others.

i saw the Dark Knight and for the most part agree with you...
I really liked it. there were a couple of moments where me and my husband just went "whoa!" like the
heath ledger was inspired. i mean, it's true that he electrified every scene he was in. his Joker is the character you love despite the moral issues, but at the same time you'd be too scared to hang out with him!
I personally thought TDK was better that BB, because BB to me felt cartoonish and fragmented. TDK had more realism to it, if you can say that about a superhero movie. I realize there were unrealistic parts but as a whole, it felt like something taking place in the real world, whereas BB felt like the old Tim Burton movies.
Oh, and I thought Mag G was GREAT as Rachel, much better than Katie H. For the same reasons: she was more earthy and real.

I will pass on both Katie Holmes and Maggie G., but if I had to pick I guess I'd go with using Maggie in a movie. (I hated Dawson's Creek). I loved Christian Bale. I like him as Batman.

TDK was the Batman film I have been waiting for since I collected the comics back in the 80's. A real Dark Knight detective, a real Joker, and even a plausible Two-Face. It was simply a joy to watch.
Heath Ledger probably won't get an Oscar nomination - even if he does will probably not win it - but frankly he impressed me far more than some of the big names out there and would be entirely deserving of such recognition.
If I had to pick one nit, it's that Christian Bale was outclassed by all his co-stars. I hope the next film can bring him back up to the level of his counterparts. Even Mags did a decent job, but I may feel that way because I hate Katie Holmes so much. Either way she brought a new spin to Rachel Dawes and you can really empathize with her.
I thought it was one of the best-paced superhero films yet, and I was constantly stunned at how it was stylistically like a great gangster film like Godfather or Casino. Is it in the same class as these films? I have to say no, but it was close. Damn close.
Overall my favorite film since Iron Man, which also blew me away but I realize now not nearly as much as TDK. This is easily my favorite superhero film to date. Looking forward to Watchmen!

I went to see it during its second week in the theaters, and I am anxious for it to come out on DVD so I can see it again. It wasn't perfect by anymeans but it was the first Batman movie that I really liked since the first Tim Burton Batman movie.
I didn't like Batman Begins mainly because I am familiar with the Batman mythology from comics and graphic novels.
couple of things I didn't like about The Dark Knight:
1. too long, easily could have been trimmed down closer to 2 hrs without losing anything important.
2. the batmobile is just too over the top.
I know, I know its awesome and everything, but its just too much IMHO....
anyways thats my 2 cents

During the last 45 min, though it was packed with quite some action, viewers around me looked really off of it, sitting uneasily & checking time..it really was just too long (then so was the BB, but I somehow didn't have the same feeling with it)
For me, hi-tech feel was way over the top for the Batman narrative I came to love (and like folie a deux, through comics). I understand its cinematic appeal, but that's never been of major significance to what Batman is about.
TDK's overall sense of humor was the strongest I've seen in all the Batman movies so far. Wicked.
