Jin-Soo Kwon
Jin-Soo Kwon (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Gwon Jin-su, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Kwo(n Chin-su) is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jin was born into a poor upbringing with his fisherman father which he has always been ashamed of. After meeting and in order to marry Sun, the love of his life, he was forced into working into his father-in-law's mafia-type business in which he takes part in horrid tasks. This has made him almost scared of what he is capable of. Due to this, he was over-controlling of Sun in their late-marriage stage. Jin is the only survivor to not speak the native language within the group - English. This has caused a constant language barrier but after Sun revealed she spoke English to the group, this helped him overcome this struggle and has managed to pick up disconnected words and phrases.

Hey thanks for the input on the subject. I guess it wouldn't be all just flying around and having fun all the time, would it? I guess I always had this idea that maybe if you could control your dreams you could also have more control over other aspects of your "real" life, like imagined barriers and things of that nature.
Perhaps some of us are having crazy dreams and nightmares because we are in the thick of Lost season and our imaginations are working over time trying to figure out what the wackos over at ABC have up their sleeves

After reading Lost's post I feel I am quite happy to not remember my dreams often and when I do they are usually dumb honestly..
Although there have been many times my boyfriend has had to wake me because I was screaming in my sleep.. I feel very luck now that I can't even remember them usually.. The annoying part is wondering what the heck ya could be dreaming about that would make ya scream in your sleep.. OR like the other morning I remembered it was a "weird dream" remembered how I felt in the dream but not remember what it was about.

I don't know what the terminology is, but there are levels of lucid dreaming. I fairly frequently have lucid dreams, in which I am aware that I am dreaming. My husband, though, goes further with his lucid dreams. He will be aware that he's having a dream, and then he'll try to control it. But, when he tries too hard to control it, then he wakes up. His mind won't LET him control the dream too much! I've never really tried to control my lucid dreams. I just let them happen.
Also, I learned to make myself wake up from bad dreams at a very early age. I don't even know how old I was -- I was in elementary school and I had a scary dream. The person was about to open the door to the "bad guy" and I made myself wake up. From then on, I ALWAYS woke up before the scary part happened. This happened so often, that somewhere during adolescence I started to worry that my fears would go unresolved.
I went through a phase where I was really fascinated with dream interpretation. I found the most interesting tool to be the Dream Question. You ask your subconscious advice about some issue in your life ("Should I get a new job?--for example), write it in your journal before going to bed, and then repeat the question over and over again in your mind before going to sleep. The main problem I had was that I ALWAYS had a dream that gave an answer BUT I had great difficulty interpreting the dream until several months later. After a period of time, with a little distance, when I read my journal, it would seem really obvious to me.
Last dream obervation: I had some really cool dreams when I was pregnant. Anybody else?

Well, I've never been pregnant so I can't comment on that! My "really cool dreams" come somewhat sporadically, and I'm not sure if there is any pattern. I used to keep a dream journal and its true that if you write down your dreams when you wake up for a few months you start to remember them better. I believe it's said that Picasso did this.

I am a die-hard fan of Cronenberg also! I don't mean to get off topic here, but what did you think of Eastern Promises?

hey darnzy I saw your post just now.. I can't recall all the nomination categories correctly, but I think Eastern Promises deserved more than what it got with the Oscars (not that I think Oscars is the ultimate measure to movie- success but you know what I mean) Masterful directorship, phenomenal acting, a haunting original score..I don't think there is one other director out there that questions vice, violence and human fabric like Cronenberg does. Best movie I've watched in the last few years, and I watch quite a lot
